Chapter 9

Mikha became aware that she was staring longer than the usual at the couple. She feels sad and depleted and realised that those promises from the past were meant to be broken.

Stacey feels sorry for her friend she knew what was happening, and she is well aware of the promises made at this bridge. The more she needed to comfort Mikha, she encircled her arms sideways to the latter while leaning her head on her shoulder.

Aiah saw the glimpse of sadness in Mikha's lovely feline eyes. She wanted to approach her and hug her at that instance. But Stacey beat her to it.

Gelo snapped Aiah's attention and took out a lock from his pocket. "A big sturdy lock for our love, Hon. Referring to Aiah. We are gonna secure it there to show our love forever". Gelo stated, while looking at Aiah's eyes and entwining one of their hand while holding the lock on the other. They both signed their names on it and secured it in one of the available spaces on the rail. Aiah glanced at Mikha while doing so.

Mikha heard it all. She lost hope instantly witnessing the love of her former girlfriend to her fiancé. Mikha sighed a defeat for the second time and promised herself to be happy for her as friends.

Stacku, on the other hand, opened her purse and took out a pink padlock and showed it to Mikha. Mikha was not surprised at the colour choice, but she wondered why she had a padlock in her bag.

"Don't look at me like that Miks, You know I am a Girl Scout and besides, we are in Paris. I know somehow we are going to pass this bridge. Way to show our love, right?" Stacku is smirking and giving Mikha a wink, showing to just agreed.

Mikha is smiling at her friend's antic. They are both aware that their love indeed is forever as friends." She is laughing widely, thinking of what they are about to do.

Silly as it sounds, but Mikha was glad that her friend Stacku was with her today. She appreciated the gesture for saving her from her current dilemma. She held Stacey's right hand and signalled to put the lock on the rail of the bridge. Stacey smiled and she did what was expected.

Aiah and Gelo are both looking at the two, witnessing their profound relationship. Aiah fell silent after that scenario. Mikha sensed the sudden mood change of Aiah and suggested going on separate ways late that afternoon to give way as well for the couples some privacy. Everyone agreed and Aiah felt relieved. She needed to breathe and catch some air without Mikha near her or Stacku. It started jealousy gripping in her heart and uncertainty of the event that just happened.

Why both feel their heart is aching with what they have witnessed today. Does it mean that they still have the love connection?. Do they both feel the same way?
