Late Night when the party ended, everybody felt buzzed except for Mikha and Aiah. The group left them and notified about their room in case they wanted to rest already. Both are aware that their friends initiated this party for them to sort things out between them.
They both sitting at the side of the pool dangling their feet touching the water. No one dares to talk right away. Until Aiah started. "How are you?" Looking at Mikha
"I am good. I am glad I came back. I never realised how I missed the group." Mikha responded, not looking at Aiah.
"I'm sorry", Aiah said, feeling guilty.
"Why are you apologising?" Mikha now looks at Aiah.
"Because I know I am the main reason you stopped coming home." Aiah said, staring at Mikha.
Mikha stared back, but could not tolerate looking longer. Instead, she diverted her gaze to the bright blue colour of the pool.
"Do you not feel odd that here we are helping by our friends again to clarify the air between us? They used to do that when we were in University, and now 5 years after they are still doing it for us. I mean, why, both of us are committed to someone already, aren't we?" Mikha shared.
"Because we have some unfinished business between ourselves, Mikha". Aiah said, still looking at her.
"Unfinished business, do we? And what is that, do you think?" Mikha laughing sarcastically.
"About US, Mikha". Aiah boldly said.... Mikha looks back at Aiah, trying to decipher her thoughts.
"Here we are again Aiah, you're the one who said there is no "US", you clearly said that last time we were in Paris, remember?". Mikha is feeling annoyed.
"I was...... I was.... I feel different since I left then, since I left you there Mikha" Aiah wanted to admit it for once and her eyes watered while looking at her. She could no longer hide what she felt for the younger one.
Mikha was speechless, and she did not know how to respond to it. She is with Jazz now and Aiah is still engaged to Gelo. "I do not know what to say, I should be happy that you said that but at the same time, Aiah we both have someone now" Mikha looks sad and the more she feels so confused.
"I would rather not hurt Jazz. She is going to join me here soon. But we can be friends for real this time." Mikha said, happily, extending her hand for a handshake.
Aiah looks at her, absorbing what Mikha said and agreed to be friends for the meantime. She knows she needs to win Mikha back, but for now, being friends with her is better than not being with her. Aiah received her hand for a handshake. They stay longer talking before retiring to bed.
