Third Person's POV:The heel of her shoe clicked on the tiled floor while she paced back and forth and occasionally turned to him.
"Cepheus wasn't up for the challenge, we both knew that from day one." He told her quietly but sternly.
She glared back at him and huffed, "He did a lot for us, the least you could do is respect him."
A silence filled the room, before she sat down next to him.
"He was a good distraction, I'll give you that, but they are going to catch up with us soon." He turned towards her, trying to get more of her attention. "I say we take the plan we originally came up with and go from there."
"They're already one step ahead. They think that Ophi is the cause and it seems too perfect. Too planned." Her eyes met his as the dusk light from the windows reflected on to her pale face. "You keep sending people, I'll keep going with the power tricks. We can figure out how to throw them off the game later but for now we have to keep them focused."
His eyebrows furrowed together as he slowly nodded, "Okay, that seems good except I don't think you should work with their power's too much."
She slightly laughed at this remark. "Why, you don't think you can beat them?"
"Well no, I just-"
"You asked for someone to give you a challenge and when I offered The Planets you got scared. Because of your cowardliness I went out of my way to find you the most mediocre group of 19 year olds so that your shitty plan would work. And here you are, questioning your ability? Questioning my abilities?" She continued, "I don't know how much more you want me to dumb it down for you. I can get a group of 5 year olds next if that's what you want?"
He rolled his eyes in annoyance, "You know, that is not what I meant."
"Then what did you mean?" She threw her hands up seeming to get more irritated and stressed by the second.
"Well, if we were going to give Cepheus credit for anything it would be his predictions." The room fell quiet again leaving him with an emptiness.
A long pause was taken before she let herself speak again. "It doesn't matter what Cepheus thinks. He's gone, you of all people should know that." The words filled her mouth with an odd taste that blurred the lines between bitterness and guilt- which was always a complex feeling to her. She didn't like to think about what happened with Cepheus much because then she ends up thinking of the long list of other things shes guilty of. Things in which she cannot change or mend, it will simply always be broken.
He pulls her out of her thoughts, "If you think that's what will carry on our mission then I say go for it. I'll have people there as soon as possible." She smiles and nods before getting up and heading out the door.
