As the morning sun shone its rays through the canopy of trees. I looked out into the forest as the rays made circles of light on the forest floor brining little bits of life to the dark and gloomy image it had before. Though it was still dark I could easily see farther into the woods. The forest even though day had come still looked dark and eerie, the trees towered up like giants and with brush on the ground so thick anything could lurk and move around without being seen, Raknash and other predators alike. But it also was calming, birds chirped in the trees and you could hear all manner of animal callings. It was like being back on earth and watching the sunrise on a nice country morning in the middle of a lake fishing for god knows what. As the day dragged on the forest seemed to explode to life as more sun came through the trees and animals came out to play, hunt, or sing. It really was a sight to behold, if I wasn't fighting for my life, I might have thought that this planet would be a perfect place to build a home and settle down for the rest of my days. Sadly, that wasn't the chase and I was indeed fighting for my very own survival from the hands of these beings.

I had stayed up most of the night either repairing my armor or cleaning up the mess of Raknash bodies around the outpost. During the night I also did find a razor and mirror I ended up catching myself looking over my facial features after I was done shaving. My black curls seemed to be longer than I thought and my chin was now smooth. It didn't stick out much but it complimented my roguish face and deep-sea blue eyes. After a moment or two I shook my head and made a mental checklist of what I had to do, since I planned on making this my A.O. or area of operation. I first needed to repair my armor which I went back to doing immediately. It took me a few hours to get the dent out of my shoulder pauldron but it finally came out which allowed me to fix some other minor things. A scratch here and a dent there. Minimal things but keeping your armor in top shape could mean life or death on a serious battle.

After finally finishing my armor and putting it safely in the commanders' quarters. I needed to get the outposts communication arrays back up and running and trying maybe tracking down a signal or survivors or maybe even an earth vessel that I could hopefully hail down. It took me a couple hours but I accomplished that as well, now it was time to go and get defenses up in-case the Raknash came for round two. I had to do these things first before i could even think of supplies like food, and water. This way I would be set for a while and have a defendable place to stay, as I walked all over the outpost doing various things and idea popped in my head for better more potent defenses. And my intuition told me that I was onto something good. I went into the troops barracks each room was like a big steel box, just big enough for a bed and dresser, maybe a sink, and of course a weapon cabinet. Each room was the same, a box spring mattress with a four-drawer oak dresser and a sink in the right corner of the room.

The bed was bolted to the floor so I flicked my wrist and one of my daggers shot up into my hand. I quickly sliced through the bolts, then i measured up the legs of the bed and sliced them at the top to make a metal tube. i did this to about ten rooms taking all four legs from the beds. Then I went back into the repair room, I found cone shaped spear heads and welded them onto the ends of the poles. Once I turned the legs into spears, I went into the defense room of the outpost which powered the outposts main defense turrets and remote charges.

It looked like everything was intact and it made me wonder if the turrets still worked. so, I ran down into the outposts basement and found the power generator and turned it on. when I did that, the place seemed to come back to life. Lights flicked on along with computers, cameras, along with monitors and control panels. I went back into the defense room and typed in the turret engage and patrol command code to make them operational again. Instantly two big bushes shot barrels out of them and slowly pivoted from side to side. The vines and leaves acted as a camouflage and they didn't minimize or hinder the turrets range or motion. So, they were hidden and still able to be used as effective defense. These weren't the only two either, each outpost was equipped with six of these turrets all camouflaged and rigged up the same way so that way the whole place was defended with no weak points.
