The next morning seemed to come quicker than ever. The morning sun crept in through the windows of our little outpost and seemed to chase away the gloom and eerie feeling the jungle had seemed to radiate all the time. I woke up with Tiger Fang walking out of the shower room a bleach white towel wrapped around her perfectly athletic figure. She walked with the grace of the mythical creatures called elves that were famous for their gracefulness and long lives. Her skin glowed with that of a full moon light bouncing off the calm waters of a lake under the star light night. She notice he was awake and glanced over at me flashing me a devilish seductive smile as she went into the next room.
She came back a few minutes later after I had gotten on my clothes and had taken a quick shower to help kill the awful smell of sweat and blood from my pours. She had put on her armor and was now looking at me from inside her helmet that revealed nothing of how she would be looking at him right now. Whether it be a smile or a business like stare. I quickly scrambled into my armor and slid Silver Scale on my back and soon remember that not even a few days ago I actually had to use my blade to save our lives. I pushed the thought away as I slid my daggers into my gauntlets and stared back at Tiger Fang who know took up a relaxed posture jutting her hip out to the side and placing her hand on it.
"Done molesting that blade of yours yet?" she teased as she walked up to me and stood toe to toe with me even though she was about five to six inches shorter than me.
"I don't know, are you done being a beautiful and dangerous assassin?" I teased back and i placed my hands on her hips and even though i knew she couldn't see it flashed her a mischievous look at her.
"If that's your way of saying no, you need to work on your flattery skills" she giggled as she lightly pushed off of him and started for the door heading out of the officers quarters and into the corridor.
"Why are we even suiting up?" I asked wanting to get more information as to why we suddenly were getting back to business only a day or so after our near death experience.
"The way I see it, we need to know how many patrols and or convoys come through or near this area" she mused as she trotted down the corridor.
"Whats the significance of knowing that?" I asked failing to see her point for this odd mission.
"So we can judge numbers and maybe steal us some supplies" she smirked as she opened the door and looked back at him. "For a legendary soldier your pretty slow" she teased as she disappeared into the woods and underbrush.
"For an assassin you're pretty mouthy" I mumbled back mockingly as I pursued her into the forest so we could begin their mission even though to Maximus it seemed pointless.
We spent the better part of two hours scouting and spying on Raknash forces. We found out that four patrols and every three hours a large convoy containing weapons and large amounts of food comes by it wasn't a heavily armed convoy but it looked like they had enough forces to give them a little bit of a fight. It was about midnight when we finally decided to head back to the outpost and sleep for the night. But as we came out of our hiding places we found ourselves in the middle of a sleeping Raknash camp. The fire pit sizzled as the coals still emitted smoke and a low light.
"Well aren't we a bit screwed at the moment" came Tiger Fangs voice over the helmet communications system.
"They must have been an alternate group that came while we were focused on the convoy" I deduced as I surveyed the camp that consisted of about thirty sleeping Raknash all completely defenseless their armor and weapons were about three feet from each soldier as they snored in their deep slumber. "We could slit their throats as they sleep" I sneered quietly as i silently drew my dagger.
"Ya, but how many can we get through before they all wake up and attack us" Tiger Fang tried to reason.
"Then lets wire the place so when they wake up we can kill them all at once without even having to be here" I countered as i put my dagger away and snaked through the sleeping masses of the lizard people that have been trying to kill us since day one.
"Can't argue with that" Tiger Fang sighed as she ducked into the darkness and began her work silently as I stood guard waiting to kill any Raknash that was unlucky enough to wake up. It didn't take her long before she appeared at my side nearly making me jump out of my skin.
"Done, now can we get the hell out of here before they wake up?" she asked with obvious urgency in her voice. She didn't want to be this close to our enemy and I didn't blame her at all.
"Ya, lets get going" I whispered over the comms as i leapt into the trees and dashed back to the outpost with Tiger Fang right on my heels.
It was about four O' clock when we got back to the base and stripped off our armor and collapsed next to each other in what became our bed the night before in the Officers quarters. We both instantly fell asleep and relished in knowing soon about thirty more Raknash would be dying very soon. It must have been around six when we heard Tiger Fangs bombs go off. The Raknash must have tripped the motion sensors on them and blew the entire platoon to hell. We slept for a few more hours and ended up waking around nine in the morning.
Tiger Fang was in a good mood all day. She teased, and we flirted, a lot, It was as if we weren't in the middle of a two hundred thousand to two war with the Raknash. I took great comfort in this feeling of security. Around two in the afternoon we decided to go raid one of the convoys that comes through ever three hours or so of the day. So we dawned our armor and rushed out to our spot. It didn't take long for us to see the smoke from the bombs that the Raknash had set off and when we got there Tiger Fang quickly pulled me behind a huge tree and told me to stay quiet. Down in the camp a whole division of Raknash had gathered and it seemed they were setting up defenses.
"Looks like we stirred up quite the hornets nest" I mused as i surveyed the area trying to get a good head count on the amount of soldiers that were present.
"They are getting bolder, they must know they outnumber us i'm counting around two hundred soldiers heavily armed and armored" she hissed.
"I got the same numbers, but they aren't heavily armed. They have heavy armor on and standard cutlasses. It's the Officers that are heavily armed and armored." i pointed out as a huge black lizard came out of the main tent. He had heavy roman like armor on and sported a huge clay more that could chop a tree down in two swings. He looked exactly like the one that almost killed me and Tiger Fang at the abandoned outpost.
"I think we can take them" Tiger Fang whispered tensing, getting ready to attack at a moments notice.
"Don't you think we should wait a bit and trying to take them out one by one?" I asked eyeing her skeptically. She never had expressed any impatience before and it make me wonder if there wasn't something that bothered her about this division of Raknash soldiers.
"These things need to die and it needs to be quick, at least this division" she sneered viciously
"Why do you want to fight these particular Raknash so bad" I snapped grabbing her arm and making her face me. "What did they do to you to make them your number one target?" I pushed shaking her slightly.
Tiger Fang stared at me through her helmet with a gaze that i couldn't see but I felt. I could feel it pierce deep into my soul and it felt like she could see straight through me. "They killed some people that were close to me, and i vowed to make them pay. And i will do just that." she hissed as she broke away from me and jumped five trees over and disappeared into the forest without a trace.
