The Raknash smiled, showing off there razor sharp teeth. They had us completely surrounded and to them we were at the disadvantage. They closed in the circle around us making sure that we had to fight our way out. I quickly analyzed the situation and i knew Tiger Fang was doing the same. Finally the Raknash broke at us lunging and jumping trying to be the first to kill the last two elites on their planet.
Quickly Me and Tiger Fang scattered as she broke toward one half of the group and I broke for the other. As soon as i met the other half of the enemy force i dove head first into the first Raknash body checking him to the floor. Quickly the other warriors protected him and swarmed me, slashing and stabbing and roaring. I dodged as much as i could but i caught a blade to the same shoulder i took the arrow in and it sliced through my armor and into my shoulder. The wound screamed with pain as blood swelled up in the wound and began to flow and drip on the floor. The Raknash must have smelt it because they suddenly started fighting harder and faster. I quickly retreated to a corner in the room and waited for my half of the warriors to surround me, it didn't take long for them to follow and corner me. But this time i was the one smiling behind my helmet because they had just given me enough time to grab my throwing knives. I quickly threw them at the advancing warriors chests and they bounced off not leaving a mark. The Raknash suddenly burst into laughter and looked at me with amused eyes.
"Nice try elite" one warrior spoke "Though we expected more from the great ghost of Backrendor".
"Well that massacre wasn't suppose to happen" i hissed as memories of that night came back to life. The soldiers dying in that base, and my best friend being cut to pieces making sure i got away and survived.
"Now you will die" the Raknash hoard chanted in unison.
"No, you are going to die" I mused as i picked up my daggers again and charged the entire hoard. As i came upon the closest Raknash i sliced upward making a long gash from his chest to his chin. He tried to scream but nothing came out and he quickly collapsed to the floor. As swift as wind i picked up a throwing knife and shot it at a Raknash in the way back of the mob and embedded it in his chest, he screamed and tried to claw it out but only managed to make the wound worse and slowly he bled out and dropped dead. All the other Raknash were momentarily stunned by the sudden attack and deaths of their comrades but quickly recovered and charged at me. But it was already to late for them
As the neared me I took my stance and waited for the first one to get to me. The closest one raised his sword above his head to cut me down but was quickly stopped with a slash to his stomach and another dagger going straight into the back of his mouth and punching a hole out the back of his throat. i quickly pulled them out and launched my self in the air while turning around and throwing both arms downward catching two Raknash on their collar bone and easily sliced through them and hitting the major artery triggering a massive bleeding effect as they feel down screaming.
As i landed on my feet i saw a bright light to my left and was suddenly blown through a wall. My vision was blurry but i fought to keep conscious, if I got knocked out now i would surely die. I staggered to my feet and noticed Tiger Fang throwing explosive daggers all over the place. Making the compound and fiery oblivion Raknash dove and screamed trying to get away. Some were engulfed in flames and were rolling on the ground trying to put it out before they got cooked. I staggered over to the blazing inferno still trying to catch my breath, she was nuts, but she might have just saved our lives .
Finally i regained my composure found my daggers and put one of them back in my gauntlet. I sprinted over to her and spoke through the radio as i dashed past "I think we did enough damage lets go before you turn us into barbecue" I joked as i burst out of the side of the compound and melted into the forest.
"Agreed" came the familiar tone as i saw the purple visor pop up about a hundred yards to my left running as fast as me. "We need to find a safe place, i'm wounded and there's no way i can make it back to the compound tonight".
"I agree, there is a cave just ahead, follow me" I cooed. I was wounded as well my shoulder hadn't stropped bleeding and i was sure that i left a blood trail leading our direction from the compound.
When we got to the cave we ran inside and caught our breath. Tiger Fang collapsed and i was by her side in a split second assessing the damage. She had multiple puncture wounds in her stomach and i deep gash on her should that looked similar to mine. She had very shallow breathing which meant she had lost a lot of blood on the way here. I very slowly took off her helmet and then took mine off as well, and laid them next to each other. I stared into her emerald green eyes which had become glassy and some how distant.
"I'm not going to let you die" I choked as tears started to climb into my vision. What was going on, why did i care so much about a person that had tried to kill me once. But the answer was clear i had fallen for this beautiful killer the moment i had saw her, my gut twisted at the thought of losing her and i was determined to keep her alive. I took off my armor and laid it next to my helmet, then i walked over and gingerly took hers off and did the same. she still had the tight USMC shirt and military slacks on, but her stomach revealed several wet spots were she had been stabbed and as i looked up to her shoulder i notice how lacerated it was. her armor hadn't been made for close combat, she was a assassin or Shadow Cloak in our terms. Her armor and crumpled under the force of being hit by the Raknash cutlass.
"Guess I'm a little rusty" she smiled.
"Damn Bastards" was all i could manage to get out as tears started to streak down my face.
"Your shoulder looks pretty bad, you should rest" she gestured as she pointed at my shoulder.
"Not until i know your going to be okay" I argued.
"I'm a Shadow Cloak, we regenerate quickly i just need to rest" she comforted.
I had completely forgotten that Shadow Cloaks could regenerate blood and heal themselves at alarming rates. They had been injected with a small portion of lizard DNA which allowed them to heal and regenerate in case they got wounded in battle. I relaxed a bit and decided to look over my wounds, even though i only had one i couldn't regenerate like she could and if my wound was bad enough i could die. I felt around the wound, it was drenched in blood and the cut was deep. But it didn't feel deep enough to were it may have hit my artery, which was a good thing.
I took out some gauze from a med pack built into the back of my armor and i also grabbed some needles and thread. I stitched up the wound as best i could then wrapped it tight in gauze making sure that enough pressure was applied to where the bleeding would stop. All that we could do now is hide out here and hope the Raknash didn't find us. Night finally came and i slowly drifted off into a fitful but also deep sleep.
