Windows

And I looked

into the windows

of her soul.

The only thing I saw

was cold.

Her heart

which was filled with holes

upon holes with lifeless dreams and failed goals.

The tears that fell down her face was just a glimpse,

but a mirror of how her past has been.

Sadly, no one seemed to have peeked

at her heart that love failed to seek.

Look past

the anger and frustration.

And heavy nights of contemplation,

to the people with the same situation,

that became broken with no admiration.

I'll remove the blinds of brokenness,

Take down the drapes of self indulgence and hopelessness.

I had never intended to open these windows of your soul

And leave you to be all alone.

So believe me when I say

I won't close these windows of your soul,

Unless you do something backstabbing

And break down the doors of my home.
