violence sort-of, cursing, angst :]

being the descendant of mondstadt's noble but most hated family wasn't easy: you'd always have to look out for eula and be aware of her whereabouts. and eula loved you for that; for caring about her, and not only.

you were the only one among a select few who saw beyond her family origins and treated her as a unique person of many talents; a jack of all trades. and the wide range of capacities she displayed had led her to be chosen as the fourth captain of the knights of favonius by none other than grandmaster jean.

that evening, you'd came back later than the fourth favonius captain;

"eula ?" you called out worryingly, instantly concerned about her - because you knew something was the matter.

"eula ?" you asked again, hearing no response. "i'm back, i just came over to check on you..."

as you walked in and further along the hallway, doubt and concern were creeping up on you; you quickly followed towards her room.

"eula lawrence, fourth captain of the knights of favo-" you called out: and this time your voice was firm, cold.

however you were cut off dead in your words as you opened the door and let your eyes fall upon the mess in the room; eula's clothes were sprawled all across the wooden floorboards, and her cape hung halfway off the bed. her thigh-high black leather boots were so chaotically splattered on the ground that you almost tripped onto one of them whilst walking forward - and hung onto the doorknob with one of your hands for to prevent yourself from falling over.

there she was: eula lawrence - the fourth captain of the knights of favonius - visibly saddened, her head hanging low.

wearing nothing but a teal-blue bathrobe - that barely seemed to cover her chest properly - eula had a glass of alcohol in one of her hands, and was circling the liquor around the insides of the glass, gently.

suddenly, a small hiccup suddenly escaped her lips and you noticed that a faint tint of blush covered her cheeks. walking closer to her, you picked up a peculiar scent: eula's breath was hot and reeked of whiskey.

you knew eula well: whenever something was saddening to her, she'd drink until wrecking herself and becoming a emotional mess. and that time, visibly, it were the case.

half-dried tear marks stained her face and as you looked closer, her jaw muscles were tense.

"eula, hey..." you whispered, your gaze soft whilst tilting her head upwards to force an eye contact. "what's wrong, dearest ?"

as your hands slowly and softly guided eula's to set the glass aside and onto the desk.

"do you...." you began, face close to hers, as you carefully observed every mesmerising little detail about her - she was breathtaking, even when she looked the most drunk and mostly vulnerable. "want to talk about it, love... ?"

"you wouldn't-" eula mumbled, slurring on her words, as she looked into your eyes. "understand... just leave, y/n-"

now eula was asking you to leave her house? after all the times you cared for her? no fucking way.

"then explain it to me... !!" you snapped, teeth gritted in anger as you grabbed eula by her shoulder. "if you don't talk and just stay there wordlessly, how am i supposed to be helpful, huh ?!"

"my life is none of your concern, you
fool-" eula responded with the same tone, as she grabbed you by your collar, causing the two of you to have a strong hold on each other. "i shall-"

"vengeance will be yours, i know... ! and you know what?" you spat back, glaring at her darkly, giving a bitter chuckle. "stop thinking you're absolutely loathed, solitary and abandoned because you're not alone. stop thinking people want your head on a fucking pike because it's also not the case. stop blaming others for something when you know you can't change them because that's only going to hurt you. stop drinking yourself out like it's going to make a damn change. it's not. and it'll only make your life worse. -
and yeah, of course you can choose to wallow in your stupid self-pity and make the rest of your life miserable... that you can."

eula's eyes were widened at the statement and she tried to open her mouth to give an answer: but no sound came out from her lips.

"and also.... ugh, get the fuck up eula, i'm not done." you ordered, before continuing in your words, as you grabbed her harder, - wrenching her up by yourself, almost. "and lastly, i refuse to do my best to help you when all you do is push me back and treat me like shit. you're drinking too much. alcohol is doing things to you, eula. bad things. because i don't recognise you anymore. i don't recognise the confident charming captain of the knights i became well acquainted with. the one i became friends with. the woman of all my fucking dreams i wanted to confess to."

quiet fell into the room, the atmosphere icy and thick as both looked at each other.

"you.... what?" eula said, suddenly breaking the deafening silence.

"i wanted to tell you something." you spat, dropping your hand that held eula by her collar. "but not that it matters now."

"y/n wait, i..." the blue haired captain of the knights pleaded as she grabbed your wrist to stop you from walking away.

that's when you saw her eyes; glistening with tears. and they seemed to be begging you to stay with her.

"i'm sorry, y/n..."

you gazed away from her, reluctantly.

"please.... stay with me longer..."
