It took days to get back to Emon, but Vox Machina finally made it to the sovereign's castle.
When they opened the door they heard Fince, "safe to say you've sent Vox Machine to their doom"
Scanlan obviously couldn't help himself, "Doom? We don't know the meaning of the word"
"Well, I don't" Grog said
"Sovereign, hold on to your goddamn crown. We've just discovered that the monster is none other than" Scanlan announced, "a blue dragon!"
"We know" the council answered
"Did you kill it?" Allura asked
"I wouldn't say 'kill,' really" Keyleth responded
"We're still kind of working on that part" Pike added
Krieg laughed, "I can't believe you made it out alive. How did you survive?"
"Mm. Trade secrets, I'm afraid, Kriegy" Scanlan boasted as if they had a master plan
"We hid and it flew away" Percy said earning the middle finger from Scanlan
Grog laughed, "wait, how did we survive that?"
"These blabbering fools are useless, sir" Fince glared at them, "perhaps if we made an offering to the dragon. Gold in exchange for peace?"
The twins glared at him. "Why don't we shake its hand and offer it a fucking pint while we're at it?" Vax said sarcastically
"A dragon cannot be bartered with" Vex spoke, "if it desires Emon's destruction, it will not relent"
"You heard her, sire" Krieg said, "you know what must be done"
"But what if it attacks the city?" Kima spoke, "we'd be sitting ducks!"
"What would you have me do? Let it burn more farmland, slaughter more innocents?" Uriel argued, "No. We will bring the fight to it on our terms. General, you may move our soldiers at dawn"
"But sire, you as-"
"I have made my decision, lady Kima" Uriel interrupted her, making her submit and bow, "this council is adjourned"
Guards started to push Vox Machina back as soon as he said that.
"Alright you heard him, clear out" one of them said as they all started pushing them towards the door
"Uh, don't kill it before we do" Scanlan tried, "your offer is still in the table, right?" He asked before one of the guards grabbed him by the back of the shirt and kept moving
Outside, the group stepped to the side, away from the two guards that were petting Trinket, but stopped shortly after the group exited the palace.
"I felt it again" Vex said, "that same feeling I had around the dragon. There must be a connection. One of them is working with that fucker"
"Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh, yeah. I bet..I bet it's Allura!" Scanlan said, confidently, "I never trust anyone prettier than me"
"Uh-huh, uh-huh. I knew it!" Grog said, as if he knew what Scanlan was talking about
"No, you dipshits, Fince" Vex sweatdropped
"The creepy one" Miel said in a sort of 'hellooo' tone
"He looked like a withered piece of scrap leather" Percy followed up
"Oooh." Grog said before chuckling and whispering over to the gnome, "I didn't catch anyone's named
"So, what do you we do next?" Keyleth asked
