[ Sim Jake ]

Jarin's dad suffered from chronic heart disease and that's the reason why i offered her a ride home from Incheon to Gwangju.

her parents both can't drive and the only relatives with them is her younger brother who is still in high school.

Jarin is the one who is in charge in paying everything related to the family.

"do you want me to send you to the station first?" I ask as i glance at Jiwoo from the rear view mirror.

"just drive to Sunghoon's,I'll stay there.Jarin have to get home immediately"She reply making me nod.

after about 20 minutes,we arrived at Sunghoon apartment and I help to bring all the stuff up to his house while Jarin take something from her unit.

"careful"i say as i see Sunghoon walk to the couch.

"i know..you treat me like a kid"he reply making me chuckle.

"you behave like one while you're warded"Jiwoo interrupts making Sunghoon dramatically gasp and scoff.

"no im not"he argue.

"i'm not going to argue with you today, im here to keep you alive today so don't change my mind"Jiwoo reply making him roll his eyes.

"you should get going,Jarin could be waiting"she continue making me nod.

"I smell jelly"Sunghoon say making Jiwoo glare at him.

"i guess today is a good day to kill you"she reply before she turn back to me. "why are you still here, go"she demand.

"are you chasing me out?"i ask as she seems to be wanting to push me out of the house as fast as she can.

the girl frown for some second before looking at me smiling.

"no im not. And i just politely think that you should get going Inspector Sim"she say making me scoff and nod a few times before walking towards the unit door.

"call me if anything happen"I say as put on my shoes.

"not like you could get here fast"she reply making me glance up to her before standing up.

"I'll call Jay if we need anything,he's off work by 6 today so take your time"She continue making me nod as i turn to the door.

"see you tomorrow"I say,the girl reply with a lazy hum as i close the unit door.

[ H1ve Apartment Parking ]

"yeah i—Jake's here i'll talk to you later"Jarin say as i reach her and straightly get into the driver seat, starting the engine.

"your dad?"I ask as i throw my jacket to the back seat and wear the seatbelt making the girl beside me do the same.

"it's jihyeon,he's worried as i haven't arrived and i didn't update them anything"she answer.

the mention of her brother name caught my attention.

"he didn't mention anything about your parents?" i ask as i start to drive away from the apartment.

"he said mom having a high fever and it hasn't lessen since morning and dad hurt his leg a while as he try to find some herbs for her"She reply making me nod.

"are you comfortable in that to visit your parents?" i ask.

she knew what i'm trying to say to her making her sigh. she changed her office attire to her casual fit.

"you should stop caring for what i decided to wear" she reply.

i expect the exact answer so i don't continue the conversation. until she is the one who does.

"my family doesn't have formality that needed to be follow like yours Sim Jake"

"You should stop judging my style"

she continue making me sigh heavily, still not taking a glance at the girl beside me.

"i'm not judging. I never was."i say.

"all i ask is if you're comfortable wearing that as i know not all guys knew how to be respectful" i continue and receive no reply from her.

"i always asked that because I was your boyfriend. I am supposed to make you feel safe and secure but i guess we have a different opinion on that"

"i'm no one now so you can do anything you want, as long as it don't affect my life"
