[ 2022년 | Incheon Police Station | Sim Jake ]

"Jake, there's another case yesterday..they found a body behind Vye Club.they said it have the same mark as the ones before"Damin, one of the officers report.

"the victim information"he say as he put a file in front of me.

i lean my back on my chair and let out a heavy sigh.

"again?this the 10th one from last year..it's a serial murder cases now.."i say. "we're short of forensics member..they're all busy by other cases"i continue.

"about that, they informed that a new forensic scientist will transfer here..she will work as a partner with you"he add making me look up.

"she?only one person?"i ask in disbelief.

"she is skilled, that's why they transfer her here"he reply making me nod. "when will she be here?"i ask again.

"suppose to be this evening"he answer making me nod. "where's the body?"i ask, "Hanil Hospital, as usual"he answer making me nod and stand up.

"hit her up,if she's on her way here, ask her to go straight there"i ordered making him nod as i make my way out of the station.

this is my fourth year of being an detective.

cases in Incheon always have been a lot but since last year, there's not much of murder cases but there will be one cases that seems odd every month.

and it have been going on for 10 months starting from last May 2021. the clue all point to one people but when we thought we have caught the culprit, it happens again.

and the case remains open until now.

i reach for my phone and call someone.

"where you at?"i ask as he pick up his phone.

"Hanil"the guy on the other side reply.

"there's a forensic member on her way there,if you see her bring her to the body"i inform.

"she?just one of them?"

"they say she's skilled,she just started today so we'll see.im driving there now,hang up"i reply and ended the call as i step on the gas.

my phones ring as i stop at the red light making me reach for it from the passenger seat.

i look at the unfamiliar number and pick it up.

"hello?"i say.

"hi,good evening ms Kang.This is Incheon Station, the inspector you're working with ask you to go straight to Hanil Hospital as there is a new case"a guy speaks.

"ah is that so?then i'll head there now,thank you for informing me"i reply.

"it's my job,when you arrive there just show your ID they'll show you the body right away"he add.

"got that,i'll go now"i say and hang up the call as the light turns green.I change my direction from to the station to the said hospital.

Luckily the hospital is only 10 minutes away from where i currently at.i park my car and unbuckle my seatbelt.

i get off my car and walk into the unfamiliar building in front of me and straightly go to help desk.

"yes ma'am what can i help you with?"the nurse ask making me smile before taking out my ID and show it to her.

"ah you're the forensic member that Dr Park just inform,wait a second i'll call him"she say as she reach for the phone.

"yes, Dr Park she's here.where should i send her?" she ask and nod after i heard a faint reply from the other side.

"copy that"she say as she cut off the call.

"he ask you to wait for him here,you can take a sit there first"she continue as she point at a vacant seat in front of the desk.

"sure, thank you"i reply making her smile and nod. I make my way to the pointed seat.

I take out my phone to see if anyone texted me and heard a quick step coming to my direction.

"where is Dr Park?"i heard a voice ask.

"that sounds familiar.."i mutter quietly. "he's coming down,you can wait here"the nurse from earlier reply.

"ah really?thank you"the guy replied.

"oh Jake, you're here too"i look at my right and see an unfamiliar face approaching but then something hit me.

"wait..Jake?"i mumble before look up to the man in front of me and see the face that i haven't seen in years.

he smile to the guy before diverting his eyes on me and froze too.

"Kang Jiwoo?"

"Sim Jaeyun.."

we say in unison.
