I rounded the corner towards the science building in the dark, hands in my pockets to avoid the night chill. The science building was directly across from the computer science building, both were fairly close to my dorm room, but relatively isolated due to the thick trees.

I felt the grass crunch under my feet as I walked towards the back of the building. It was made of gray concrete blocks that felt like they made the air even colder with their frigid color.

I must have been a bit early since when I arrived, there wasn't a package, a person or a note. Nothing to indicate that there was something waiting for me. I nervously rocked back-and-forth waiting for something to happen. The wind whistled, and I couldn't help but feel like it was taunting me.

I used the ominous quiet to remember the events of the day. I blushed just remembering the way that Bangchan made me feel. I felt like I could do anything as long as he was with me, despite the odd attitude change he'd given me today. Maybe I just liked the comfort of someone who would love me no matter what. At least, I was beginning to think that it was love. It's not like I really had that before in my life.

Before I could drive too deep into his uncharacteristic shift or my feelings, something interrupted me. A loud rustling to my left. I immediately jumped backwards, expecting something to jump out at me, but instead the rustling just stopped and silence followed. I wasn't able to move for the first couple seconds after the sound. Eventually, I collected my bearings and went to investigate.

It was dark, so I had a hard time navigating the prickly bushes. They scraped me, leaving papercut-like incisions. When I felt like I was about to give up looking for anything in the bush, I saw the corner of a brown package poking out from between some of the branches.

When I actually grabbed the package and picked it up, I was immediately surprised by its weight. The box was small, but it was heavy, clearly packed full. Size wise, I could've held it in one hand, but weight wise, I had to use two to hold it comfortably. It was unmarked, besides a little sticker residue. It must've been a repurposed box.

I was so curious, I would've opened the box right there, but it was taped shut enough that I needed scissors to open it. I glanced around to make sure there wasn't anybody there, but it was vacant. I was extremely curious who could've messaged me and evaded my sight.

The only sound was the wind howling, and the grass rustling lightly with the gusts. It was impossible to tell if anybody had been there. I felt very paranoid as I reluctantly made my way back to my dorm. I got out my phone to let the person who's been messaging me know that I'd received their gift.

Me
I got the box, and I heard you rustling

Unknown
I noticed...so you decided to take my advice?

Me
No, I'm just curious.

Unknown
You know, after opening that, you can't go back.

Me
What are you talking about?

Unknown
If you open that box, you're going to learn information that will make it impossible for you to go back to the life you had here before

Me
What the hell are you trying to tell me?

Unknown
You don't know anything.
