We followed the headmistress to her office. With each step, I felt my heart hammering. I was unsure about what to expect but I know that I was not going down without a fight. We got to her office and she sat down behind her desk.
"Ok, I need to know how did this happen? How did Sun get two envelope? Everyone is supposed to get only one," she said as everyone look at each other confused.
"Someone must have tampered with our incantation in some way. So who did it? Who performed a separate spell while we cast our," she ask but no one said nothing.
"Its better that someone say something now because if I have to figure it out then we will have a problem," she said but still no one said nothing.
I looked at Samantha and saw that she was still holding the crystal within her fist. I was not ready to get into trouble for anyone so I looked at her hand and said a spell that warmed her hand till it caused her to drop the stone.
"So, it was you Samantha. You interfered with the sacred ceremony and caused this mess," she began to say but then she realized the truth. This means that Sun and I was bonded. For the first time, two men was chosen during the ceremony.
"Do that mean that my paravatai is Sanjay," Sun asked.
"No. Even though Samantha interfered, she is the one that I believed should be your paravatai," the headmistress instructed.
"But that's not fair, you talk about tradition but when things don't go your way, you throw away tradition and do what fits your need," Sun shouted.
"Lower you voice. You and Sanjay cant be paravatai. You are both men and that is not something the ministry can stand behind. It has never happened nor will it ever happen. You and Samantha are paravatai and that is final. Sanjay, we will find someone for you later and if anyone speaks about what we discussed in here to anyone, your powers will be stripped from you for two weeks," she warned.
"This is not fair," Sun said as he walked out the office. Samantha followed after him and I followed suit.
I didn't really know what to say. I always thought that the paravatai ceremony was fake but maybe the spell is real. I didn't want to go to anymore classes the rest of the day because I didn't want to deal with any questions about the stupid ceremony. I decided to go to the library to do research on ancient magic. I stayed in the library till school was over. As I started walking toward the gate, I saw two of Samantha friend talking. I heard Sun's name so I wanted to hear what they are talking about so I stop, kneel and pretend to tie my shoes.
"So, I heard that Sun broke up with Samantha after the ceremony this morning," one of the girls said.
"Wow, he is terrible. How could he do that after they was just paired up together," another one replied.
"Yeah and she was really crying when I met her. Lets go meet up with her and try to cheer her up," the first one said and they started to walk away.
I was not expecting to hear that he broke up with her. I didn't think Sun had the confidence to do something so bold but you have to do what you have to do sometimes. I got into New car and was driven home. I got out the car and started walking when I heard from New that I was the only home and that they would be back later on. I didn't reply. I walked into my room, closed the door and sat down to find Sun standing behind my door.
"What are you doing in my room," I said.
"Umm, I wanted a change in environment so I wanted to come see you," he replied.
"Don't you have a girlfriend, why didn't you go to her house," I said acting like I didn't know what happened.
"I broke up with her so, yeah," he replied.
