I want that dam scythe

Luke's POV

We quickly left Camp Half-blood on our Pegasi. Oh how much the others don't know..

First of all I was pretty much the one to give that scythe to that monster. I set all of this up, just because I knew it'd be suspicious if I just showed up at camp with a huge scythe. If we would do a quest to retrieve it, there would be other half-bloods knowing how we gained it and thus there wouldn't be as much confusion.

Only problem: Way more campers went on that quest than I thought.

With a little luck I could have someone weak on that quest, just the two of us. In that case it wouldn't be hard to just knock out said camper in the 'final battle', have the monster hand the scythe and just saying that because I defeated the monster I'd be entitled to it. Maybe we'd follow the three is a magic number rule. Still, I'd be able to handle two people. They could maybe be children of Aphrodite, without charmspeak of course. Or children of Demeter. All they care about is flowers, for all I care. Easy peasy, and we can move on. Well not. Now I'm here with three other demigods, not a single one of them being weak in the slightest way. Or well, maybe Athena kids because they don't have powers makes it slightly  easier although they are smart as hell.

Well I'm the oldest, and they all relied on me so I had some sort of advantage. All I had to do is not dropping my joking manner. Or be constantly annoyed when that Heja kid or anyone keeps referring to how we had the same kind of scar on our faces.

But back to the story. We'd have to go south. We'd fly with the pegasi for some time and then we'd have to rely on ourselves. In the air I suddenly realized our mistake. "Guys." I said loud enough so everyone can hear me. "Did we bring mortal money?" I asked. I could see their eyes widen. Ugh. Not one, but two Athena kids and we still forgot money. And whoever the godly parent of Anathea may be. Hopefully not someone too powerful. Someone like Dionysus, or maybe Aphrodite. Not too powerful and thus not to big of a problem for later. Although she might be a kid of Athena. Anathea and Athena sound alike, just like Annabeth and Athena only have slight differences. Although I also doubt that, since Heja got claimed by Athena, so why not Anathea as well? I snapped up from my thoughts as no one answered my first question: Did we bring any money?

"I see that as a no. Great. Okay so our only option is to rely on my Hermes-kid power of manipulating money, I guess?" I asked. I hoped I sounded not too rude, so I quickly added a smirk to it.

Good thing I did that. After a few hours we landed in Maryland. Annapolis, if I am correct. There the Pegasi flew away back to camp. Or maybe to some grassland to rest before making the journey back. I don't know, mythological animals aren't my expertise.

We decided to go to a McDonald's. I mean, we were out of camp and now that we had the opportunity to have a treat we'd definitely take it.

I was honestly surprised how hyped 12 year olds could get over chicken nuggets. Both Heja and Margo chose them (Heja even chose the spicy ones). I'm not gonna elaborate on what we ate that night, I'll just stick that it costed a good 40$.

It wasn't very hard to just trick the cashier into paying. As long as he didn't open the register the moment the fake money would disappear we'd be fine. And even if that would happen I was sure the Mist would just cover it up.

After that we walked to a hotel and checked in for the night. I again tricked the cashier with the money and stuff. I still can't believe we forgot to bring fucking money. I just didn't have to use my powers very often or I'd have to take a nice nap against my will.

And that might mess up everything.

Even though we were in a hotel we took turns for being on guard. I volunteered to take the first shift and as the three girls~
