Narrator's POV

It was pretty much the middle of the night when Theo suddenly got woken up by a light in the car. He looked around, trying to find the source of it and once his eyes focuses he realizes it's coming from Silke. Or well, not Silke but rather something in front of the daughter of Aphrodite. An Iris message, thought Theo to themselves.

"Izzy?" Theo heard Silke say. Izzy? What would Izzy call them in the middle of the night for? Soon that question was (kind off) answered. "Silke? Oh sorry, I meant to call Theo." "Okay, but still. Why are you here?" Silke said while looking backwards at Theo, gesturing for him to come to the front.

Theo quickly unbuckled his seat (why was it buckled anyway, they were standing still) and climbed to the passenger's seat.

"Izzy, please tell me what's wrong. And why do you have to reach out to us specifically?"

"I kinda have no one else to talk to.." Oh izzy that 10 year old little Theo was not gonna finish that sentence. "Why not? Don't you have like friends or something?" Ah shit Theo hit a wrong spot. "No no I didn't mean it like that I know you find it hard to make friends, I'm sorry Izzy bee don't be sad.." Theo mumbled quickly. "Please tell us, what is it you want to talk about?"

"Well I kinda had an accident a couple of hours ago.." Izzy started. If Theo wasn't fully awake by now he definitely was now. "Tell me. What happened?" Please don't let it be too bad, Theo thought to himself. Next to him Silke's face also turned a little more concerned, but she stayed silent.

Izzy showed their hand and Theo wasn't sure whether to be relieved, annoyed or get mad Izzy.

"A paper cut?!" Theo said. He tried not to be too loud but that kinda failed. Fenris woke with a jolt from it. He looked at Theo. What was that for. "Sorry." Theo whispered. Maybe to Izzy, maybe to Fenris or maybe just to both.

"What's happening and why's Izzy the- oh Iris Message." Fenris cut himself off once he got some sort of understanding of what happened. Fenris saw the cut and unlike Theo who was surprised he got concerned. "Oh Izzy what happened? How did you get it? Does it hurt?"

Theo looked at Silke and she looked straight back at him with an expression saying something like: 'see that's how you should've done it.' Theo then turned back to the Iris message.

The papercut was on their palm from Izzy's pinky to their wrist. "Well I was in the infirmary this evening because Katie was there and I picked up some file from the nightstand next to her bed and Lee snatched it out of my hand but he did it too hard and too fast and it cut in my hand and it hurt a little and Lee has already apologized and I'm sorry it's so late and I'm reaching out to you guys because you're also on a quest but-"

"Shh Izzy we get it." Fenris cut Izzy off. "It's fine and you also shouldn't worry that it's so late. There's nothing wrong in reaching out to friends in cases of emergencies or even if you just need someone to lend an ear, ok? Remember that." Izzy nodded. Fenris smiled.

"Also there's this event going on at camp there's a camp-wide football event and it's really cool and I'm in a team with Jalen, Katie, other Katie and a few others." Izzy said. "Really?" Theo said. "Sounds fun. Maybe we'll manage to be back before it ends, then we can cheer for you. And even if not I'm expecting you to show your opponents what you can do with water." Theo said the last sentence with a playful wink. "I will." Izzy said with a laugh.

"What exactly is the goal of your quest tho?" Izzy asked. Fenris looked at Theo. Some people don't know? Fenris assumed that, knowing how fast news can spread around camp, the Iris message of Ichneutae was already known by most campers. Apparently not. "Nothing bad, just a quest to pick up some campers and their protector." Fenris thought it'd be smart not to mention that they have to go to Alaska for it. "Anyways I think you should go to sleep, it's quite late."
