Kristen
Three weeks had flown fast. Today was the day my sister would officially be married to him. "Do I have to go?"
Zoey scowled. "Yes."
"But..."
"No buts, Kris. Besides... that dress looks amazing on you."
The red dress I had on was probably too short for a wedding, but Tess should be lucky I even showed up for her. "I'm sure my parents will think this is too short but fuck all of them. I am taking time out of my day to do this for them. I just hope this will help Brett."
"We can't control men, Kris."
"I know he wants to fuck me."
Zoey nodded. "I know."
"You're wearing that?"
I looked at Tess and hoped she didn't hear my conversation. "Is there something wrong with it?"
Tess scowled. "This is my wedding, Kris. It's not a nightclub."
"I had nothing longer to wear."
Tess glared at me. "Whatever. Just don't embarrass me."
Just as she turned around, I muttered "I wish him luck."
"Excuse me?"
"Not a thing. Have fun."
After Tess left the dressing room, I looked at Zoey and scowled. "She's cranky."
"When isn't she cranky?"
"That bitch is lucky I am even considering showing up for them."
"I'm sure Brett won't be able to keep his dick in his pants when he sees that dress on you."
I laughed. "He's about to be a married man, I would certainly hope not."
I saw my mother glare at me when I sat next to Zoey. "What is that?"
"What?"
"Your dress. Are you kidding me?"
"Quinn..." Zoey looked at my mom and sighed. "You know how things are between the two of them. She's being nice to show up for their wedding."
My mother sighed and looked at me. "I'm sorry, Kris. I just..."
"It's fine, mom."
She smiled. "I just am happy you showed up for Tess."
I rolled my eyes. "I came more for you, dad and Brett."
Once Tess walked down the aisle holding my father's arm, I saw the scowl on his face. "He sure looks pissed." Zoey whispered.
"I wonder why."
"We both know why."
"I am being sarcastic, Zo."
"I know. Poor Brett."
"It was his choice to propose."
"True."
I whispered to my mother that I was going to the bathroom and slipped out without anyone noticing, Zoey closely behind me. "Where are you going?"
I went to my car and grabbed my e-cigarette. "I needed this."
"Trust me, so did I. But god he looks so good in a suit."
I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, yeah."
"Come on, you can't agree?"
"Sure, but he's a married man now."
Zoey shook her head. "Why should that stop you? I know he would probably give anything just to get a kiss."
"I'm sure he would, but I can't."
"Should we go back inside now?"
"No. We're leaving."
"Kris..."
"Now, Zo. I can't stay any longer."
She shrugged and got in the passenger seat. "If you say so."
I knew it was wrong to leave her wedding, but I had to before Brett could stop me.
