Brett

"I want you in my bed. Tonight."

"That's what I have been dying to hear."

Nodding, Kristen grabbed her card, but I took it. "My treat, baby."

After the bill was paid and we went outside, I stopped her from getting in my car. "Look, I know how things have been between us, but meeting you is something I will never regret. I wanted a child for years, I didn't expect to have two with you and your sister, but I know he makes her happy and I plan on making you happy, so Kris... Will you marry me?"

"Really?"

"Yes."

"Of course."

She wrapped her arms around me, and I kissed her. "I was hoping you would say yes."

I could hardly wait to tell my sister the news. "I know, he told me already. It was pretty hard to keep the secret, but I knew you would be surprised."

"That's an understatement."

Tess smiled and hugged me. "We can both say we're engaged!"

"Does mom and dad know?"

"Yeah."

"What did they say about me?"

Tess sighed. "I..."

"I already know. It's fine."

"I'm sorry, Kris."

"It's alright, I kind of figured I would get that response from them."

"Well, on the bright side you have other people who are happy for you."

"Thanks, Tess."

"I hope you're happy." Brett said, kissing my forehead.

"Well, duh! Why wouldn't I be happy?"

He smirked. "Just checking."

"I love you, Brett."

"I love you more, Kris. You are going to be a great mother."

"And you are going to be a great father, Brett."

"I agree." Tess said, smiling at Brett. "You can see Jack whenever you would like."

"I really appreciate that."

"Of course."

I hated knowing that he had two children with two different women, but I had to accept it eventually not only because I love him, but I love Tess.
