Kristen

I drove home in tears. I should have known this would happen, it was just a matter of time. I saw Brett's Silverado parked in the parking lot and I only got more upset.

I saw him sitting on my couch when I went inside. "You can't just barge in here like this, I..."

He stood up and kissed me. "I love you, Kristen."

"We never should have done this."

Brett shook his head. "That's where you're wrong, Kris."

"My sister hates me."

"You guys always had problems, right?"

"This is so much different and worse. You cheated on your wife."

"And you cheated on your sister with her husband."

Tears slid down my cheeks. "I'm a horrible person."

"Hey..." Brett placed his hand on my cheek and smiled. "You are not a horrible person, Kristen. Not at all."

"I sure feel like one."

"We can't control emotions, baby."

"No, but..."

"I've been in love with you for months, Kristen."

"You have?"

"To say the least. You have no idea how badly I have wanted to tell you that."

"But she's having your daughter and..."

"I'm sure she will find someone else. Besides... she can't go without having a man wrapped around her finger, remember?"

"I... I guess."

"When am I moving in?"

"Who said you were moving in?"

"I don't want her Kristen, I want you."

"But..."

"No buts, I've wanted to be with you for months."

"Me too."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"God, you have no idea how happy I am to hear you say that."

"What are you going to do about her?"

"Joint custody of our kid and in terms of our marriage, that is over because you're the one I want. You're the one who I want to marry and spend the rest of my life with."

"Brett..."

He smiled and kissed my forehead. "Everything is going to be okay now. We don't have to worry about sneaking around anymore."

I knew he was right, but I felt horrible. I ruined my sister's marriage.
