My heart sunk when I heard her say it. "You're pregnant?"

A tear slid down her cheek and she nodded. "I shouldn't have even..."

"It's okay."

"No, it's not. You got both of us pregnant and I am sure you want nothing to do with either one of us."

"That's where you are wrong, Kris."

"What do you mean?"

"I told you I wanted a child, Kris."

"Yeah, you will. With both my sister and I."

"She has someone to help her now, I'm here for you."

"But..."

"I'm sure you thought I would leave, right?"

She nodded. "As you should."

"Well, guess what? That isn't happening."

"Really?"

"Yes really."

"But we aren't even together, and you guys aren't divorced."

"I have a surprise for you."

"What is it?"

"You'll have to see, honey."

*** Later that night: "Did you really buy a ring?"

"Yes."

Vince shook his head. "Why would you do that?"

"I love Kristen. Not only will she be the mother of my child, but also my soon to be wife."

"You are out of your mind, man."

"Possibly, but I love her."

"You should really give it some thoughts before you go through with doing something as big as proposing. I mean... what if you regret it?"

"Why would I regret it?"

"You have two baby mamas now, Brett. What are you going to do?"

"Tess has someone else helping her, Kris has no one."

"I am sure she's capable of doing it herself."

"No."

Vince shook his head. "You're out of your mind, Brett."

"I know."

"Think about it before you make the decision."

"I have."

"No, you haven't."

"Yes... I have."

"What if Kristen has no interest in dating you?"

"Because I know she has feelings for me, Vince."

"That doesn't mean she would want to be with you."

"I am determined to change her mind if that is how she feels."

I suddenly got a message from Kristen: I need time to think about this. I feel we should have some space.
