*** Two months later: I knew how hard Kristen tried to pretend that she has no feelings for me, but I know deep down she feels the same for me.
"There's something I've been wanting to talk about."
"What?"
"I talked to my parents, and I told them that I want to stay in Philadelphia. I don't want to go back to London, I missed being close to them."
"What about Kristen?"
Tess scowled. "What about her? She couldn't care less."
"You know that's not true."
"Yes, I do. We hate each other."
"No, you don't. I know you guys have your differences, but you need to move past them." God, what the hell am I saying? I have no right to give her advice when I have been fucking Kristen for the last two months.
Tess sighed. "I'm sure you're right. I just... I'm afraid she will take you away from me."
She already has. "She won't."
"Do you promise?"
"Yes. I love you, Tess." I felt like I am living a double life, but it's hard to let go of Kris regardless of being married to Tess.
"I want to have a kid with you."
"What?"
"We've been married for almost four months, Brett. I want to be a mother."
"You're only 21."
"And? I'm mature enough."
"I'm at an age where I don't know if I am ready."
"Well, guess what?"
"What?"
Smiling, she grabbed something off of the dresser and handed it to me. "What is this?"
"A pregnancy test."
"Why would you buy one?"
"Take a look."
"You're pregnant?"
"Yes!"
"I thought you were still on the pill."
Tess shook her head. "I told you I want you to be the father of my child."
"You trapped me!"
"No, I didn't."
"I seriously can't believe you, Tess."
"You aren't happy? I figured you would be."
"I..." I have no choice but to lie. "I am happy."
"Good." Tess smiled and kissed me. "I can't wait to be a mother."
"I'm sure you are. But I have to go, I told Vince I would meet him at his place."
Tess scowled. "You said nothing about having plans."
"Sorry, I forgot."
I kissed her quickly and grabbed my keys before calling Vince. "What's up?"
"You busy?"
"No, why?"
"I need to come over to talk."
"Is it bad?"
"Very."
