"Why are we doing this again?"

Tess looked at me and smiled. "I want to tell them the news, babe!"

"Is Kristen coming?"

Tess rolled her eyes. "Hell no, she couldn't care less about me. Besides, I am glad I won't have to see her around any longer."

"Why do you say that?"

"She's moving soon."

"What? Why?"

"Why does that matter?"

"I was just curious."

Tess shrugged. "Not my problem, she can make her own choices."

Once we got to the restaurant, I had to act as happy as I could after Tess told her parents. "I will finally have a grandchild! I'm sure you are excited to be a father."

Not really to be honest. "Yeah, I am."

"Is Kris not coming?"

Tess rolled her eyes. "Hell no. She wants nothing to do with this, mom."

Could you blame her? She is just as angry as I am right now. "Everything will work out, I am sure."

"Yeah, whatever."

"When is she moving?"

"I have no clue, hopefully soon."

"Tess..." her father looked at her and sighed. "Don't be mean. She's your sister."

"She doesn't care what we think."

"I'm sure that's not true, but she's an adult and she can make her own decision."

"I can't wait to find out the gender."

Her mother smiled. "You won't find that out just yet."

"I hope we are having a girl, I've always wanted a daughter."

I went to the bathroom to make a quick call to Vince. "Can you call me in 5 minutes?"

"Why?"

"So, I can have a reason to leave."

"Where are you really going?"

"Kristen's."

"Yeah, I guess I can do that."

"Thanks."

After 5 minutes, my phone vibrated, and I looked at Tess. "It's Vince, he told me to go to his house."

Tess scowled. "But we're eating."

"He said it's important."

Tess rolled her eyes. "Fine."

I left and drove to Kristen's, beyond irritated. Not only did I marry this psycho, but she's pregnant with my kid.
