Chapter 12: Bargaining with Death (Rewrite)

"This is weird..." Lancer muttered.

The old servant, plunge his spear forward, trying to strike Logan down in a single strike, but, the Magus Killer quickly dodge his attack. With prestistence, and direct timming, that can be seen, to be a flawless dodge from anyone, but, something felt wrong here. Lancer can already see it, clear as the moon shine above them, thee fact, that a mere human, manage to even dodge most of his strike was weird for him.

Even though, he haven't pour down his strenght that much in his strike, but, the repeated process of dodging and parrying from the enemy master. Was already weird for him, usually, a mere human or even a Magus, couldn't fathom the likes of fighting agaisnt one another. Then, there's this weird human, that not only, manage to dodge his attack, but, also Assassin.

This is simply bullshit, for a human to dodge a servant attacks, is already baffling enough, but, take on two servants at once, is just beyond shocking. One of those servant, were Assassin, a class that is specifically build for sneak attack, yet, the enemy master manage to predict most of Assassin strike. Even though, he didn't leave this fight unharmed, it's still rather baffling, for a human to take on two servants at once.

"Modern era, sure is weird..." Lancer muttered.

Yet, knowing such anigma appearing in the Grail War, there's no way, that Lancer will pass out this chance, to test out the true strenght of a mortal that derive from the Age of Man. Even though, his master want to kill him, Lancer, want to satisfy his curiosty first, it's not a bad idea, to learn a few clues on their enemies true capabilites.

Assassin on the other hand, have another thought on it's mind, the very existence of the Magus Killer, felt weird for it. Assassin can sense it, the mortal designated as the Magus Killer, derive from the Ages of Man so to speak. Possessed a familiar stench from an old era, an era that should've long pass away, yet here they stand agaisnt each other. Many sneak attacks, that Assassin try to dealt out, was quickly shut down by the Magus Killer reflex and prediction.

It's akin to fighting a machine at this point, with all the precise movement, and time to dodge, not only Lancer, but, Assassin at the same time. It's already weird enough, that a mortal could even survive for 6 minutes agaisnt two servants at once. Even if both servants, restraint themselves from using their true power, as per their masters words. Once the Magus Killer is gone, the war shall resume as usual, and the alliance will broke off once and for all.

Suddenly, amidst the shadow of the port, Assassin sense a bunch of unwelcome guests, have step into their domain.

[Master,] Assassin call out through their mind link. [I suggest, we stop playing with our food, as much as I like to do so, and get this over with,]

"You? You of all people, want to stop to play with their food? What the hell, have gotten in your mind?" Yelena asked through their mind link.

[Because more enemies are coming, about 70 meter from behind, a total of 15 people have been watching our fight from the begining,]

"And, you just informed me now?" Yelena asked in annoyance, as she turn her head toward Luke. "Go, and order Lancer to deal with the enemies behind us,"

"Why should I listen to you?" Luke asked.

"If you want to accomplish your goal, then go dealt with them now, before they became a hassle later," Yelena said.

"Do it yourself, I don't take order from anyone beside Allisa," Luke said.

"Tch! This is why I hate, going into battle with someone else," Yelena then swung her hand back.

As she threw two small green pebble, with a flick of her finger, the small pebbel began to transmutate, and quickly became two disfigure manticore. Both disfigure matincore, possessed the high of 7 meter, and a body lenght of 6 meter, this two disfigure monsters. Were the fail, experiment from Yelena Magecraft, they are much frailer than the perfected one. They are the result of her Magecraft, a Magecraft that focus on transmutating living beings into a monsters.
