Take Home

Jeongyeon and I made our way to the rest of the group, all of which were so caught up in their conversation that they didn't notice we were approaching them. That was until Sana looked up and immediately charged over and pulled me into a nearly suffocating hug. The other girls quickly followed suit. Assessing my minimal injuries and muttering angry curses amongst themselves.

"Are you okay? Do you need anything?" Jihyo asked while looking at the bandages on my arms.

"I'm alright, just a couple of scrapes and bruises."  I smiled reassuringly at her.

"I'm sorry you got into this mess because of me."  she looked down.

"Hey, it's not your fault. I would have done it if it was just me so don't worry."  I laughed and patted her shoulder reassuringly. She smiled back at me before looking away again.

I looked to the other girls, "well this was certainly an eventful first outing."  they all laughed.

"I knew this was going to be fun" I turned to face the restaurant.

"Should we go back in before our food gets cold? I'm sorry if I ruined our lunch." I looked down as I said the second sentence.

Nayeon spoke, "you didn't ruin anything and maybe we should take it to go and eat at home. It'll probably be better that way."  Everyone nodded in agreement.

"dahyun, tzuyu,  and mina will you come to help me get the food together?" chaeyoung asked, the other three nodded and followed her into the restaurant.

"I'll go pay,"  I said as I headed in shortly behind them.

I headed to the table to grab my purse and then approached the stand where a woman was wiping down menus. I quickly searched for my wallet as the woman wordlessly set the menus down and turned to me.

"Hello, my name is Kim Chaewon, how may I help you?" she smiled at me.

"I'm here to pay the bill for the big party." she started typing away on the cash register.

"Okay your total is $74.16, will this be my cash or card?"  she looked up from the screen.

"card" I handed her my card and waited while she ran it.

"I heard about what happened in the parking lot, are you okay?"  she asked with a glint of concern in her eyes.

"yeah, just some scrapes." I smiled.

"I'm just glad the cops took him away because who knows what your friends would have done. They looked so mad it scared me." we both laughed.

"here's your receipt" she handed it to me and grabbed it but she didn't let go, "call or text me so I can check up on you tomorrow,"  she smirked at me before letting go and going back to cleaning menus.

I glanced at the receipt and sure enough, a number in blue ink stared back at me. I could feel a blush rising over my cheeks and hurried off to the other girls at the table waiting for me to finish.

"Are we all set?" chaeyoung asked as she picked up two take-out boxes.

"yeah," I looked down and fiddled with the receipt.

"okay let's go out to the others" dahyun spoke as the others grabbed the remaining boxes and we made our way out to the parking lot where everyone else was.

"let's meet at the house!" sana exclaimed as she ran to get shotgun in one of the cars. Everyone else laughed as they slowly followed her to the cars.

Chaeyoung got into the passenger seat as I put my purse into the car, I took the receipt from my pocket and looked over again before setting it in the cup holder. Should I text her? Is that weird?

"what? Was it a lot? Chaeyoung's sudden words pulled me from my thoughts.

"huh?"

"the receipt. You were staring at it for a while. Was it more than you thought it would be? I'm sure the girls wouldn't mind splitting it with you. Let me see how much it was" she quickly grabbed the receipt before I could get a word out.

"oh-" she looked slightly shocked.

"oh that...that's nothing" I laughed awkwardly.

"it doesn't seem like nothing, there is a heart next to her name."

"Really?" I leaned over to look at the receipt that was still in her hands."I didn't notice that before."

"are you going to text her?" she turned to me with a kind of serious face that I couldn't read.

"Probably not...Well maybe...I don't know"

"oh okay...I think everyone has already left. We should start heading back before they get worried."

Once we arrived at the house we quickly brought in all the food and boxes of my stuff. Momo, Jeongyeon, and Jihyo set the table and reheated the food that needed it. While the rest helped me unpack some of my belonging in the meantime.

We heard Jihyo call for us and quickly finished what we were doing before heading to the dining room.

We all began to take seats at the table I made my way to sit next to chaeyoung but as I got closer to the seat she looked over at me and called for tzuyu to sit next to her. I brushed it off and just sat across from her between Nayeon and Mina.

We all began to eat mostly in silence besides a few things here and there. I think we were all very hungry from everything that happened today. I couldn't help but glance at chaeyoung a few times and noticed that she kept looking away when I would look in her direction.

"is there something going on between you two?" Jihyo asked, raising an eyebrow and using her spoon to gesture to Chaeyoung and me.

"no no" I shook my head and looked back at my food. Chaeyoung didn't say anything.  There were a few strange looks then everyone went back to eating or started conversations.

"y/n got some girl's number!" chaeyoung blurted out. Everything else stopped. Suddenly all eyes were on me.
