The Beast and the Sword Book 3: A Koi's Journey

Prologue: To the Start

The morning had come over the small village of Tolsa. Many in the village had started bright and early as they started to open up the stores and little restaurants they had available in the shop. The little village had been lively, especially the ones that had stayed at a Bed n Breakfast that seemed to have covered every part of a large marsh that had been provided in the village. Everyone that worked in the Bed n Breakfast, that had been dubly named, "The Ideale's Paradise" had quickly gotten to work.

    All except two.

    "ALYS! AOIFE! GET UP!" A young boy shouted from down the stairs as he hit the ceiling with the broom, "YOU'RE LATE FOR WORK!"

    Two young girls slept on their own side of the room as it had been decorated with children's drawings and shells. Most of the drawings consisted of the ocean and beach. Most had paintings of the ocean that had been framed a bit nicer. The first girl that had slept on the right side, had sat up as her medium length hair had been a shade of a lavender purple with eyes of blue. She yawned before she noticed the time on the clock, which made her shriek.

    "HOLY WHOA, WE OVERSLEPT!!" The girl exclaimed before she tripped and stumbled out of bed. She managed to stand herself up after getting untangled from the sheets, before she dashed over to the left side, where a young girl with light blue hair had slept.

    "ALYS, ALYS GET UP!" She yelled as she shook the girl uncontrollably, "WE OVERSLEPT!!"

    The girl named Alys shrieked before she noticed the time herself as her eyes had been of a violet shade, "OH NO!! Uncle Gian, Iwan and Jareth are gonna kill us! We're supposed to be working in the kitchen with Chance and Kim today!"

    "Hurry! Hurry! We gotta get dressed!" Her sister--Aoife said as she pulled Alys out of bed.

The sisters quickly got out of bed and started to sort through the drawers and did their best to get dressed. Aoife had put on a magenta top with a red neck strap and ruffled trim in white and yellow around the top and a set of brown short work pants with gray boots. She tied her hair in a ponytail with a green bow after brushing her hair. She even put on a short sleeved brown jacket and a set of open fingered gloves.

Her sister Alys fixed her hair so that it had been short and curled with a portion tied up into a heart-shaped bun held by a mint green bow. On each side of the head is a braid pulled back; she put on a pink blouse style shirt with its sleeves at three-quarter length. It had a white collar that extends down to the chest, the sleeve opening also lined with white. A yellow ribbon tied around the collar keeping the shirt together.

Beneath the long collar down front, the back of the collar and above the sleeve openings had a flower design. She wore a brown skirt and a set of sandals that had been in the color red, as it had a starfish design on it.

The Girls soon busted through the door before rushing down the stairs. Though, that proved to be a mistake as they tripped and began rolling down the steps as they shrieked in pain before rolling towards what appeared to be a kitchen area.

A man soon towered over them as the girls recognized him.

"H-Hi Uncle Gian..." Aoife said with a nervous smile, "... Sorry we're late."

"Sorry, doesn't make the food you know?" The man said as he had appeared to have... Green skin and fangs sticking out of the corners of his mouth?

He had stood tall, as he resembled a man in his mid-thirties, who had short white hair. He had on a blue tunic shirt with a set of dark green pants that reached up to his knees; he had on a dark gray jacket and a set of black shoes.
