Surprise

I woke to the soft cries of my daughter Hope, as I push myself up in the bed I see my handsome husband walking around the bedroom, "I'll take her Daniel," I say moving to stand when I see the time on the clock it was almost eight thirty in the morning.

"Where is Lily and Max?" I ask as I hold my arms out for Hope.

"They are sleeping Hope has been crying on and off I'm surprised they did not wake to her," Daniel says as he passes me our newborn daughter; I sway slowly as she cuddles up to my breast.

"She's probably hungry. Why don't you get the kids up its Christmas they have a new sibling to meet and our family is coming back at four this afternoon," I say as I begin to breast feeding Hope who sucks away like a champ.

Just after saying those words the door opens Max with his teddy bear and Lily come in, Lily's eyes fall on me and Hope she squeals, "mama is that a baby?"

Daniel moves over to Max picking him up as I answer Lily as she climbs in bed, "Yes Lily this is your new baby sister Hope."

I smile as Lily leans down kissing the smooth forehead of her sister as Hope continues to feed. Max was holding onto Daniel the whole time not sure what to do, he just stared at his baby sister with wide eyes. After the shock of them having a new sibling begins to wear off we went downstairs, to do presents and breakfast, as Hope woke up from her nap it had just hit three forty five and everyone was coming to the house. I had dressed Hope in one of Lily's old dresses from when she was a newborn and did Lily's hair as I finish up our eldest daughters hair I look at my husband who was bending down talking to Max. Hope began to fuss as Daniel starts talking to Max, I pick up the newborn who was not yet twenty four hours old.

"Maxie, buddy you okay?" Daniel asks our son as he straightens his small suit jacket, Max nods as he looks at me then Hope.

"Daddy I'm not the baby anymore," he says in a small voice as I fix Lily's hair tie, I shift Hope to one arm as I look at the clock.

"Daniel family is going to be here in ten minutes," I say as Daniel stands up, fixing his shirt he takes Hope from me, "I have to fix my hair I'll be right back."

I fix my hair as the doorbell rings and Hope stirs in Daniels arms but, she just looked around with her bright eyes, Lily opens the door with my help once again just like the night before my family stood in the door way.

"Come in everyone Daniel and I called you here to announce something very exciting," I say as Lily leads everyone into the living room, "Last night Daniel and myself had a big surprise brought to us."

Daniel walks into the living room holding Hope who was in her soft pink blanket, "Everyone my family would like you to meet the newest member of the Grayson family."

Nolan grips Patrick's hand as Pat smiles; David looks at Hope with wide eyes as Victoria stands there speechless, Declan smiles clapping his hands as Charlotte wipes tears away, "Meet Hope Rebecca Grayson."

"Hope came into the world last night at 10:30 pm she is 6 pounds 3 oz and 22 inches long," Daniel says proudly as I walk over to stand beside him.

Everyone held Hope as I walked over to the tree I turn to face Daniel who I knew had followed me, I wrap my arms around him and he leans in pressing his lips to mine.

"You know if it was not for you bumping into me on that boat we would have never fallen for each other," he says smiling, I touch his shoulders, "Even if it was a plan to clear dad's name, I love you as Emily Thorne and Amanda Clarke."

"I love you too Daniel Grayson," I say as I look at my father who was now holding Hope, "I can't believe after all these years he is back to the father I know and love Daniel."

"These years with our family have been the best Em," Daniel says as he holds me, I watch Lily and Max play with their new toys from their grandparents.

"I know Daniel," I say softly as I lean my head on his shoulder I lift it the moment I hear Hope cry, "I'll take her dad she needs to be changed and fed," I say walking over to my father who was holding Hope out for me to take from him.
