As I watch James and his partner take off with Aiden in the back of the cop car; my eyes search the sky as I feel arms wrap around me.
"You did the right thing Em," I hear Daniel says as he holds me against him, my back hitting his chest as I lean my head onto his shoulder.
"I know I just hope we get what we need from him," I say sighing as I glance at him, "can we go home?"
"We are home baby," he says softly as I kiss him gently on the cheek.
It was then I realized I was crying, "it's really over Daniel."
"It is," he mutters looking at me, "you and our family are completely safe."
"Detective Grayson can you sign the release form for the footage taken with Office Thorne," a coworker of ours asks as he holds a form that's on a clipboard up to Daniel. Daniel nods and signs the papers with out a second glance at them.
It's been months since that night and I am completely happy with my husband. Daniel was giving a promotion at work and I want back to being a retired cop, so I could be with my children. Aiden got twelve years in prison with out a chance of getting out on good behavior.
Since the case was closed I was able to take care of my children with my families help and life was as they say Happily ever after.
Or so we thought
