It's been a couple of minutes since I came back upstairs they were arguing now
"we should hit them back. We've got the numbers to beat them" I saw Sevika slam her hand on the table "yeah let's teach them what it means to mess with us" that's time it was a random guy that spoke "yeah" everyone chimed in everyone in the crowd started to agree that we should fight back say that we have the numbers to take them on
"you sure that's what you want" Vander had lift his pipe and started to smoke as we heard people agree saying 'yes let's do it' "we cross that bridge once before and we all know how that ended" before he could talk anymore someone to chimed in "you're just protecting your kids" I notice out of the corner of my eye Sevika glaring at that guy for some reason
I put my arm around Powder to pull her closer to me as I put my other hand on Ekko's shoulder to reassure them both "it's all right you two I promise" Ekko and Powder both gave me a nod as I whisper to them saying that they'll be ok
"i'm protecting our people I'll do the same for any one of you. we look out for each other it's the way it's always been. this will blow over we just need to stand together" I kept a hold of Powder and Ekko as we heard Vander trying to protect us say that this will blow over in time "the Vander I knew the one who built the underground wouldn't be afraid to fight" I looked at Sevika as she said those words I heard stories that she used to tell me about Vendor about who he used to be
Vander walked a little bit forward to stand in front of Sevika while having his pipe to his lips smoking it "do I look afraid" he sounds serious he stood right in front of her leaning down a little "no" she took a step forward "you look weak" Sevika whistled and started to turn around and walk out of the last drop with a couple people followed her out
"why isn't he doing anything" I looked at my side to look at Claggor as I was still holding Powder and had my hand on Ekko's shoulder "we kick the enforcer butts with just the five of us" Powder moved a little getting out of my embrace "imagine what the whole of the lanes could do" I smiled at Powder as I moved my hand to rest on Ekko's head "jeez even Powder wants to fight" I rolled my eyes as a ruffled Ekko hair giving him a smile "so why aren't we" everyone started to go back downstairs I was about to join them before I noticed something was up with Ekko
because normally when I did that to him he would smile at me tell me to quit it but he didn't this time "are you doing all right" I was concerned I think Vi heard me because she stopped he made eye contact with us for the first time since we got here but he just looked away trying to hide something "spell it Ekko" I looked back at Vi and Powder to see both of them standing there "um" he sounded nervous I leaned on the wall waiting for him to start talking "oh, ok well um Vander's got a deal with the enforces" that confused me I pushed myself off of the wall "what deal" me and Vi said at the same time
We all went back downstairs so we could fill the boys in on the deal instead of just me, Vi and Powder knowing of it
"so let me get this straight" my voice was calm as I was leaning on the couch "he got a deal saying if he turns one of us in the rest of us will go free" Ekko didn't say a word he just nodded his head "why would he even make that deal" Vi sounded a little irritated and confused at the same time "it made sense to me" I looked around to see everyone staring at me to explain why it makes sense "ok listen he cares for us right" I looked around the room to see everyone nodding their head agreeing with that "so he could've made a deal to protect us by turning someone in and the rest of us goes free who do you think he'll turn in" they all looked around the room confused "he wouldn't turn anyone in" Mylo stood all the way up and started to walk over to me "do you think that low of him" I shook my head saying no "ok listen to me say this again he cares for every single one of us in this room right who will he turn in if it means the rest of us get to go free" I could tell Mylo and Vi wanted to shout at me so I just said it
"if it means the rest of us get to go free he will turn himself in saving us but not himself if he cares that much in which he has shown that to all of you guys he'll turn himself in to keep you guys safe" that seem to hit every single one of them "he wouldn't do that though" Vi started to pace around the room "i'm not saying he might or might not all I'm saying is if he has a deal with an enforcer that will get all of us free it's a high possibility that he will take it by turning himself in"
I walked over to Powder and Ekko and sat by them "I don't know how this will play out but that's a possibility we all have to think of it like that I understand that's not what any of us wants to think about but it's possible right now though let's just not worry about it we have more things to worry about than that right now" I reached my hand over to ruffle Ekko hair and put my arm around Powder "let's just worry about what's going on now and what should be our next move instead of thinking of what if's"
Vi sat down in the chair again holding her head Claggor set on the sofa reading a book as Powder was showing Ekko her bombs mone of us spoke a word well other than Powder whispering to me and Ekko about the bombs which made me and Ekko both smile at her
