I spent the next few weeks trying to focus on myself instead of everyone else around me.

Shawn was making it hard to ignore him though. Every concert he played, he would dedicate songs to me. He didn't flat out say my name, but he would say "This song is for you". They were all sad songs and love songs.

Every night, in front of tens of thousands of people, Shawn sang about how much he loved and missed me.

My heart hurt and I so badly wanted to text him that I loved him too but I didn't have it in me to try anymore.

That was the worst part.

These last few months broke me and Shawn took all the pieces of me with him. All I had now was gymnastics.

Even my music belonged to Shawn. He had heard all of my songs and I couldn't find motivation to write new ones. No matter how long I sat in front of my keyboard, nothing came to mind. I was all out of ideas and melodies.

My ringtone brought me out of my thoughts and I stood up, walking over to my kitchen island to pick up the phone, "Hi"

"Where are you?"

"Hi to you too, mom" I said sarcastically.

"You were supposed to be here 15 minutes ago" My mom said.

"Mom-"

"You weren't being serious, right?"

"I was" I nodded.

I heard a sigh, "This is ridiculous"

"Mom-"

"You said gymnastics was all you had left! Now you're quitting?"

"I'm not quitting. I'm taking a break!" I argued.

"Practically the same thing. It's an indefinite break. You.. are quitting your greatest talent, all because some singer with nice hair broke your heart"

"Mom, you are taking what I said out of context" I frowned.

"No, I'm just telling you what I heard"

I sighed. This was going nowhere.

"I'll be over for dinner tonight. I have work for school... Bye, mom. I love you" I ended the call.
