Octavius felt like something was missing when he woke up. He left his room, finding a small pile of his clothes in the living room.
He sighed. Yet another hook-up where the other person left without a word or a note.
Octavius cleaned up the mess he and this other person had made, then showered. Once dressed, he went to his kitchen.
A folded-up note was left on the counter. Octavius hummed and picked it up.
"Sorry for leaving. Feel free to text or call me at XXX-XXX-XXXX. Jedediah Smith <3"
Octavius smiled weakly. He added the number to his phone. He hesitated before sending a text to this Jedediah Smith.
[Hello. I found your note.] sent at 7:15 am, 23 March
[Hey! I'm guessing you're the guy from last night?] sent at 7:16 am, 23 March
[That I am. I'm Gaius Octavius, but everyone calls me Octavius.] sent at 7:17 am, 23 March
[I'm Jedediah Smith] sent at 7:17 am, 23 March
[Ps, you've got a weird first name] sent at 7:17 am, 23 March
[I do not.] sent at 7:17 am, 23 March
Octavius set his phone down, leaving the screen face up. He grabbed a bowl of cereal and sat at his table. He lived alone. Octavius didn't mind, but he did wish he had someone to share things with.

Jed put his phone into his pocket as he grabbed his keys. He unlocked the door, going inside his and Kah's apartment. He found his things in the living room, most torn to shreds. He froze in his tracks.
"Kah?"
"Jeddy!" Kah came out of his and Jed's room. "I'm glad that you're okay!"
Jed forced a smile. "Ain't never been better."
Kahmunrah pulled Jedediah into a tight hug. "I was so worried about you."
"What 'bout my stuff?"
"That happened last night. I didn't mean to ruin your things; I was so angry I couldn't think right. It won't happen again, I promise."
Jedediah sighed. "It's fine. I can get new thin's later."
