Octavius brewed some tea and sat across from Jedediah.
"So, Jed, what brings you here?"
"I decided I need a break from my boyfriend. I dunno if I can do thin's with him."
Octavius felt excited by this but didn't show it. "I see. How long will it last?"
"I dunno."
Octavius nodded. "Will you go back?"
"I plan on it."
Oct's heart sank. "I hope that things will work out for you. You deserve the world."
Jed scoffed. "I don't. Yer the one who's takin' me in."
"And?"
"Ya deserve the world."

Jedediah's phone rang. He left the living room to answer it.
"Hello?"
"Babe, when are you coming home? I miss you."
Jedediah blinked. "I ain't sure."
"Speak normally."
"I am speakin' normally. I don't speak as ya do, but I speak normally."
Kah growled. "It's been a month! It's time for you to come home!"
"Not yet."

Jedediah laughed at the cat video Octavius had turned on. Jedediah loved cat videos. They made him so happy.
Kahmunrah never lets Jedediah watch what he wants. Kahmunrah never let Jedediah have anything without getting questioned about everything.

Octavius was amazing. Jedediah felt like he could be himself around him, a feeling he had never felt around Kahmunrah.
Maybe Jedediah wasn't happy with Kah like he had convinced himself he was.
Taking a step back showed him that things weren't as good as he thought.
Jed glanced at Oct, who was passed out with a book on his face. He then glanced at his phone and sighed. He grabbed the phone and left the room, dialing Kah.
"What?" Kah snapped when he answered.
"I've been thinkin' that we needa break up."
"What?"
"I think we needa break up. Durin' this break, I've noticed that I ain't never been happy with ya. I think we gotta end it between us."
"Absolutely not. You just need to come home."
"I ain't comin' back."
Kah growled. "I hate you." He then hung up.
Jedediah let his phone drop to the ground. He blinked back angry tears as he sank to his knees.
Jedediah felt an enormous weight lift off his chest, but he still mourned the end of the relationship. He couldn't breathe.
Kahmunrah had taken up so much of his life. Kahmunrah had been his first love, his first kiss. Jed gave him so much, yet he got nothing from it.
"Jed?"
Jed's head snapped up. "Octavius?"
"Is everything okay?"
Jedediah shook his head. Octavius frowned and knelt next to him.
"What happened?"
"I broke up with him."
"You did?"
Jedediah nodded. "Bein' here made me realize that I wasn't happy with him."
Octavius nodded. "You're safe. He won't find you."
