How We Ended Up Here (Part 2)

Solange's First Sleepover

Solange is sitting on the brown sofa that belonged to her next door neighbors. She was invited to their daughters birthday party and sleepover. There were 6 girls there, including her. Regina Hall: Lauryn's best friend, Issa Rae: another one of their neighbors, Lauryn Hill: the birthday girl, Halle and Chloe Bailey: Lauryn's younger cousins.

It was late and Lauryn's parents had already went up to bed. They girls were about to when Lauryn had the idea to play truth or dare before bed. The other girls had their turn twice before and now it was Solange's turn again.

"Ok, Solange. It's your turn now. Truth or dare?" Lauryn asks a 14 year old Solange.

"Um, truth. I guess."

Lauryn smiles, tauntingly, "Truth, again? Are you a pussy, Solange?"

After she says that, Lauryn turns to face the other girls and laughs.

Solange huffs, "Ok, fine. Dare."

Lauryn places her finger on her chin, pretending to think. She finally thinks of a dare.

"I dare you to kiss me." All the girls, except Solange, giggled.

Solange glares at them, failing to see the joke. Solange stops glaring at the girls and puts her attention back on Lauryn.

"On the lips?" Solange questioned.

"Yes on the lips," Lauryn answered, a little annoyed. "Where else would you do it."

Solange shrugs her shoulders. "I don't know, on the cheek."

"Ok, Solange. Stop stalling and kiss her." Regina says, annoyed.

"But I can't do it in front of everyone." Solange defends.

Lauryn looks her up and down before answering. "Ok, fine. Let's go upstairs to the bathroom." With that, she grabs Solange and pulls her up the stairs, to the bathroom, not giving her a chance to interject.

They get to the bathroom and Lauryn locks the door. Before Solange could walk over to the toilet to sit down, Lauryn grabs her hand. Solange turns to see what she wants and Lauryn kisses her. Lauryn let go of her hand, putting her arms around her waist. Solange just stands there, not kissing back. She was afraid. Her parents told her that girls can't be with other girls, that it was against God's will.

She didn't know what to do. On one hand, she liked Lauryn, that's the only reason she came to the party. On the other hand, this goes against everything she believed.

When Lauryn realizes that Solange wasn't kissing her back, she goes the break the kiss. When Solange realized what Lauryn was doing, Solange finally kissed her back. Solange places her hands on both sides of Lauryn face. They stayed like that for about 3 minutes until they heard a knock on the door.

Lauryn backs up from Solange quickly. "Yes?"

Lauryn is met with her father's voice. "Are you almost done in there?"

Lauryn quickly grabs a bandaid and puts in on Solange's knee. "Yea."

She unlocks the door and opens it. Her father's eyes widen at the girls. "I had to get her a bandaid for knee. She was bleeding." Her father seemed to calm down after hearing that. "Oh ok. Well, it's late. I want y'all to get to sleep, ok?"
