2 days it took, before we found any sign of her.

2 days. With Glimmer now out of the picture entirely, Cato and Clove focussed all of their attention on each other. Leaving me by myself essentially.

Not that I minded. I instead used the time to try to find some sort of remedy for the lumps still attached to our bodies.

I had thought about cutting them open, letting the disgusting pus ooze out of the wounds. But from previous games it is often found that infection is one of the highest rates of death. And being an idiot doesn't pay off well to the Capitol audience.

Luckily, they seemed to have shrunken in size, now down to the size of a plum rather than an orange.

But I am getting bored, and so will the game makers.

It was the next day when Cato had a plan,

"We put all of the supplies in one pile in the middle of the clearing, someone will be desperate enough to try steal. And we will be there to catch them. Or even better, the land mines with kill them for us."

The landmines had been dug up and relaid down around the pile by the district 3 boy. Now whoever tried to steal would die immediately.

I didn't like the idea, it was risky. All of our food and water was in the pile, just begging to be stolen. What would we do without it? Sure we can hunt etc. But the last time I tried hunting for food had to be nearly a whole year ago.

With that in mind, I made sure to restock my bag:

Sleeping bag, pack of dried fruit, several knives, two spare spear heads, a flashlight, a small leather pouch, a first aid kit, full water bottle and a bottle of iodine.

It wasn't much, but I needed to make sure it wasn't super full. I couldn't have Cato or Clove becoming suspicious of me.

Those two seemed to have no problem with the idea of all our supplies in one spot. The only problem for me was the fact that it was the boy from district 3's idea.

He was smart, very smart. It made me suspicious. What hidden plan did this boy have in mind?

Cato clearly didn't have the same suspicions about the boy. We left him to guard the pile while we hunted that night, and when we returned he was still standing on guard. Nothing had been taken.
