Lorie's POV

I was getting ready for my first date with Will after talking to him for six months. I got dressed and walked downstairs. Dad was cooking his dinner. "Hey, Dad," I smiled as I walked into the kitchen. "How do I look?"

"You look gorgeous, hun," Dad stated

"You look gorgeous, hun," Dad stated. "Who's the lucky guy?"

"Uhm, no one you would know," I replied.

"Sweetheart, there's at least a hundred people in our town," Dad looked at me. "I know almost every single person here."

"He's not from here," I replied. I looked at Dad. "He's from Chicago."

"And how did you meet him?"

"Online dating," I nodded. "Don't worry. I did a thorough background check on him with Sheriff Rasmith."

"You're telling me a guy from Chicago is driving five and a half hours for my little girl?" Dad asked. I smiled and grabbed piece of strawberry from his plate. "He better treat you right."

"He's a doctor, Dad," I smiled. The doorbell rang. "Would you like to meet him?"

"Yes," Dad nodded.

"Okay," I replied. I went and opened the door. "Will?"

"Lorie?" Will asked.

"Yeah," I nodded. "Come in."

"These are for you," Will handed me a bouquet of roses.

"Thank you," I smiled as I grabbed the bouquet. "My dad wants to meet you. Come on."

"Oh, okay," Will nodded. He followed me to the kitchen. "Mr. Sanders."

"Please, call me Douglas," Dad smiled as they shook hands. "Will, correct?"

"Yes, sir," Will replied.

"What are your intentions with my daughter?" Dad asked.

"Well, this is our first physical date," Will nodded. "I would like to take her to dinner and hopefully have her home at a decent time."

"She doesn't have a curfew," Dad replied, "but I like how you think."

"Of course you do," I smiled as I put the bouquet in a case. "We gotta get going or we're going to be late."

"Right, uhm, it was nice meeting you, Mr. Sanders," Will stated. Dad looked at him. "Oh, uhm, Douglas."

"There you go," Dad smiled.

"Bye, Dad," I stated. We walked outside. Will opened the car door for me and I got in. He closed the door and he got in his own car and started driving. "Sorry about that. Dad likes to make things weird for guys that takes me on a date."

"A date?" Will asked. I nodded. We got to the diner. "I would like to think we've been in a relationship for the past half year."

"So, if we've been in a relationship for the past half year, then why are you just now taking me on a first date?" I asked. We walked inside and got our table. "Normally, the first date is suppose to happen within the first two weeks of the relationship."
