Lorie's POV

I woke up to the sound of beeping. I was in a hospital room, with a considerable amount of pain. "Where am I?" I weakly asked.

"Hey," a guy looked at me. He smiled. "You're awake."

"Yeah?" I questioned. "And who are you?"

"My name is Will?" he questioned. "Will Halstead?"

"I'm sorry," I looked at him. "Should I know you?"

"Amnesia," Will sighed. "You have amnesia." I looked at him. "Uhm, you and I are friends, yeah, and we came to Hawaii together for a vacation." He showed me pictures of us together. "You had gotten shot and they were able to repair you, but it seems some of the side effects of the drug they gave you is short term amnesia."

"I'm sure you're a nice guy but I don't know who you are," I nodded. "I'm sorry."

"It's okay," Will replied. "If you're up for it, I'm willing to use the rest of the vacation to tell you who I am." I looked around me. "We still have fourteen days left and I would like to tell you stories of how great friends we are."

"Okay," I sighed. I decided to take a chance with Will Halstead. After all, he was by my bedside when I woke up. I felt safe after spending a couple days with him, but he was being careful. I woke up in the hotel room. I got ready and walked into the kitchen. Will was cooking. "Master Chef Will in the kitchen, I see."

"I'm not the best cook, but you've told me I was decent when I cook you a homemade meal," Will smiled. "And I also meal prep a lot since I work at the hospital."

"Wow, I even have a doctor to take care of me," I nodded. I sat down and he put a plate in front of me. "So, what did you make?"

"Scrambled eggs with a hint of Hawaii," Will replied.

"It looks like normal scrambled eggs," I stated. I took a bit. "Is that pineapple?"

"Yeah," Will nodded. "What do you think?"

"It's not bad, but I wouldn't have it every single day."

"Okay," Will smiled. Once I got done, I sat on the couch. "I'm going to check your wound, okay?" I nodded and lifed up my shirt. "It's healing pretty nicely. I'm going to put some ointment on it and patch you back up."

"Even when you're not on the clock, you're on the clock," I replied. A week passed, and we were back in Chicago. A guy walked up to us and gave us each a hug. "Will?"

"Sorry," Will stated. "Lorie, this is my younger brother, Jay."

"We've met," Jay nodded. "Im the annoying brother in law?"

"Dude, she has amnesia," Will replied.

"Brother in law?" I asked. I got a headache. Memories started flooding my brain. "We were married." I looked at Will. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"Because you can't tell somebody that they love you," Will nodded. "Those emotions are formed and developed over time."

"Wow," Jay stated.

"Of course you'd remember at the end of our honeymoon," Will nodded.

"It was a really nice honeymoon," I shrugged.

"Was it now?" Jay asked.

"Without the sex and sleeping in the same bed," I pointed. "I made him sleep on the couch."

"Maybe we'll spend more time being married now," Will smiled. Jay drove us to our Apartment. I was unpacking our suitcases. "I go back to work tomorrow."
