Lorie's POV

I got everything set up. "Testing," I stated. My voice came out over the speakers. "Okay, we are back in action. Where were we?"

"You we're about to sing a song," Kelly stated.

"Right," I smiled. "Music!"

"Whoa," Herrmann stated as the lights dimmed, and colorful lights fill the room. The music started up quietly. "This is gonna be good."

"It's the boy you never told I like you. It's the girl you let get away," I sang as a spotlight shown on me. It was slow and steady enough for everyone to turn their attention to me. "It's the one you saw that day on the train, but you freaked out and walked away. It's the plane you wanna catch to Vegas." I smiled as I heard a couple of whistles. "Things you swear you'll do before you die. It's the city of love that waits for you, but you're to damn scared to fly." The beat dropped and the lights came up. "Hit the lights, let the music move you, lose yourself tonight. Come alive, let the moment take you, lose control tonight. Hit the lights, let the music move you, lose yourself tonight. Come alive, let the moment take you, lose control tonight." I got on the bar top. "It's the time that you totally screwed up. Still you're trying to get it out your brain." I saw Will walk in with Natalie. I felt my emotions changed but I pushed it down and tried to brush it off. "It's the fight you had when you didn't make up. It's the past that you're dying to change." I jumped off the bar top and onto a table. "It's all the money that you're saving, while the good life passes by." Kelly got me off the table and set me on the ground. "It's all the dreams that never came true, 'cause you're too damn scared to try. Hit the lights, let the music move you, lose yourself tonight. Come alive, let the moment take you, lose control tonight." I walked back to the corner. "Hit the lights, let the music move you, lose yourself tonight. Come alive, let the moment take you, lose control tonight. It's a mad, mad world, gotta make an escape. It's a perfect world, when you go all the way." I looked at Jay and smiled. "Hit the lights, let the music move you, lose yourself tonight." The music quiet down a bit. I got myself back on the bar top. "So let's go, go, go, go all the way. Yeah let's go, go, go, go night and day." I knelt down in front of Jay and smiled at him. I winked at him. "From the floor, to the rafters, people raise your glasses." Stella handed me a drink and I raised my glass. Everyone followed me as the music faded out. "We could dance forever!" Everyone clapped and cheered. "Thank you! Now, to a Mr. Jay Halstead. Even though this party is for you, you still offered to be my bodyguard for the night, even though you didn't have to. It's very thoughtful of you. Happy birthday!"

"Alright, that's enough Lorie," Herrmann stated. "Get your feet off my bar."

"Right, sorry," I stated as people chuckled. I got off the bar. "Feel free to help yourself a little karaoke. Free drinks all night!"

"Ahem," Herrmann cleared his throat.

"Free drinks till 2," I nodded. "Meaning, anything you order before two is on me!" I put the mic on the stand and walked over to Jay. "Hey."

"You got a voice on you," Jay smiled.

"I know. It's technically what I got known for," I smiled. "I was wondering if you have the day off tomorrow. I need to do something before I head back to Turner in a couple days."

"A couple days?" Jay asked.

"I'll tell you about it later," I replied. Will walked over to us. "Hey, I'm glad you can make it."

"Yeah," Will nodded. "Look, Lorie, I'm sorry about earlier."

"You have nothing to be sorry about," I replied.
