Lorie's POV

My wedding day came by. I was in the bridal suite looking at myself in the mirror. I grabbed my red rose bouquet as there was a knock on the door. "Come in," I stated. The door opened and my dad walked in. "Is it time already?"

 "Is it time already?"

"Yeah," Dad nodded. He looked at me. "You look as beautiful as your mother did on her wedding day."

"Thanks, Dad," I smiled. We went through the ceremony and went to the reception. I sat at my table as people were giving toasts. I smiled and took a sip after each person spoke. I was the last one to speak. I stood up and everyone looked at me. "Okay. First, I'd like to thank my small circle of friends and family that made the trip from Turner to be here with me. I didn't have a best friend to stand with me because I didn't wanna pick and choose. I also didn't think that I'd ever see the day I got married." I got a couple laughs. "But the day I met Will, things changed. I started to see my life going in a different direction. I saw a guy that was treating me right. He then asked my dad for my hand in marriage about nine months ago." I looked at Will. "With everything going on the past couple months, I wanna thank you for allowing me into your life and having a family with your friends and family. I never thought you'd ever be able to make a small town girl feel so welcomed in a big city. So, thank you for making me feel so special. I can't wait for the rest of our lives together after today. I love you so much, Will." When the night ended, Will and I consummated our marriage in his apartment that night. I woke up the next morning and Will was just smiling, looking at me. "What?"

"I'm wondering how I got so lucky to be with a woman like you," Will smiled.

"Stop," I smiled as Will gave me a kiss. "I need to look for a job."

"Okay, well, what are your specialties?" Will asked.

"I have degrees in philosophy, politics, economics and media management," I stated. Will looked a little shocked. "Yeah, nothing useful."

"We can find you something," Will smiled.

"Yeah, I know," I nodded. He got out and went to shower. I got out of the bed and held the sheets to cover me. I opened up the window. Will walked in, half dressed. "Is it time for us to go?"

"Once you get ready," Will walked up behind me. He gave me a kiss on the neck and I let out a small moan. "You'll get more on the honeymoon. The faster we get going the more you'll get."

"Okay," I smiled. I took a shower and got into my outfit. I put on a pair of white heels and walked into the living room. "I think I'm ready to go."

"Alright," Will stated as Jay walked through the front door

"Alright," Will stated as Jay walked through the front door. "Hey, you ready to take us to O'Hare?"

"Whoa, you might wanna tell your wife she needs to start dressing like a married woman," Jay smiled. "She seems to still be dressing like a single lady."

"And there's that annoying little brother tendencies I was looking for," I pointed "Okay, uhm, Will is not going to tell me how to dress, and how I dress does not define if I'm single or married."

"I'd listen to her," Will nodded. Jay drove us to O'Hare and we boarded our plane to Hawaii. We landed in Oahu and checked into our beachside hotel. I sat on the couch as Will put our suitcases in the bedroom. "So, what do you wanna do first, Mrs. Halstead?"

"How about the beach?" I asked.

"Okay," Will smiled. "Like a walk on the beach or a picnic?"

"How about a walk first and then we can find a place for dinner?" I asked.

"I like that idea," Will smiled. We went down to the beach. The first thing I did was take off my heels to carry them. We held hands and walked along the shore line. "Are you okay, Lorie?"

"Yeah," I smiled as I looked at him. "Never better."

"Are you sure?"

"Stop second guessing yourself," I replied as I got in front of him and stopped. "I'm in Hawaii, with my husband. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome."

"Your dad told me you were engaged in your past relationship."

"I was engaged to Gilbert until he broke it off and I'm glad he did," I repiled. "Otherwise, I never would've met you."

"I like that answer," Will nodded. There was an explosion on the beach. "Lorie?"

"Some people might need help," I stated. We ran towards the site. Will went towards some victims. I saw a couple. I ran up to them. "Are you guys okay?"

"My wife," the guy pointed.

"Okay, don't pull the shrapnel out," I pointed. "Find something to stabilize the shrapnel. " I stood up. Gunshots were heard and I got hit. I fell to the grand. "Ahh!"

Will's POV

"Lorie!" I shouted. I ran to her and put pressure on the wound. "You're gonna be okay." Lorie passed out. "No, no, no." The rescue team showed up. I rode in the ambulance with the guy "Is she going to be okay?"

"We're doing our best," he replied. "I'm gonna need some information on her."

"Uhm, 27, female," I stated. "GSW to the abdomen, no exit wound."

"Are you a doctor?" the guy asked.

"Yeah, I'm Dr. Halstead from Chicago Med," I replied. "This Lorelei Halstead, my wife."

"Your wife?" the guy asked.

"We're newly weds," I stated as I kept pressure on her wound. "We're actually here for our honeymoon."

"Hell of a way to start a new chapter," the guy stated.

"Yeah," I sighed. We got to the hospital and I waited in the waiting room. Two guys walked in. They walked up to me. "Yes?"

"Mr. Halstead?" the taller guy asked.

"That's me," I nodded.

"I'm Commander Steve McGarrett, and this is my partner, Detective Danny Williams," he stated. "I'm very sorry that this happened to you guys."

"I understand that your wife is the victim, am I correct?" Danny asked.

"Yeah, we just got married yesterday," I nodded. "We came to Hawaii to get away. It's our honeymoon."

"From what the paramedic told me, you saved your wife's life," Steve stated. "You consistently kept pressure on her wound, keeping her from bleeding out. If I'm not mistaken, you know a couple things."

"I couldn't let her bleed out. She is my wife," I looked at the two guys. "I am a doctor from Chicago. Look, shouldn't you be out there looking for the guys that did this?"

"Yes, we just need you to walk us through your day first," Danny nodded.

"We landed about an hour ago and checked into our hotel. We didn't even unpack our luggage," I stated. "We went for a walk along the beach and that's when the explosion happened. We decided to help. Next thing you know, there's gunfire and Lorie was hit."

"We're gonna do everything we can to find the person who did this," Steve nodded. "I'm very sorry this happened."

"Out of all the GSWs I've treated in Chicago, I never thought my wife would be one of them," I nodded. The guys left. "You've got to be okay, Lorie."
