Lorie's POV

I left the District and went to Millennium Park. I was just walking around. I heard gunfire and people were running crazy. I got out my phone and called 911. "Come on," I sighed. Shots came my way and I hid behind a car. I reached for my gun, only to realize I don't have one. "Damn it."

"911, what's your emergency?" the dispatcher stated.

"This is Officer Lorelai Sanders, badge number 60423," I stated. "I'm requesting backup and ambos." I took a look, seeing if I can get description of the shooter. "Medium build, dark hair, 40's, automatic assault rifle Get that info to Intelligence."

"How many ambos?" asked the dispatcher.

"Mass casualty," I nodded. "Send everybody." I hung up. I went to my car and laid down the second row of seats. "Okay." I got to my glovebox and grabbed my certifications envelope. I looked through it and found my paramedic license. "Okay." I grabbed the plastic wrap from the storage box and lined the back area of my car. "Time to turn you to a medical transportation." I went to the scene of the, shooting and put my badge around my neck. I grabbed people and put them in my car. I drove them to Chicago Med. April helped me unload them. "It's horrible out there."

"Here too," April stated. "Lakeshore, East Mercy, even Mount Sinai is trying to redirect their patients here."

"Lorelai," Sharon walked out to us. "Any way you can help in the waiting room?"

"I'm better helped in the ED with my paramedic certificate," I nodded. "Just tell me where you want me." Sharon looked at me. "Please."

"Treatment one and two," Sharon pointed. "With Dr. Sexton."

"Thank you," I replied. I went to the treatment rooms and Noah looked at me. "Hey, I'm here to help tube."

"Okay, but if you need to cric, let me know," Noah pointed at me.

"I don't need to, Noah. I'm certified," I stated as I put on gloves. "I have a paramedic license."

"Okay," Noah stated. We were there for almost two hours. I took off my gloves and threw them in the trash. "We did it."

"Yeah," I nodded. I got a little light headed so I took a seat. "Whoa."

"You okay?" Noah asked.

"Yeah, just a bit light-headed," I sighed. I felt the room start to spin. "Damn it."

Will's POV

"At least we got the day over with," I sighed.

"I need some help over here!" Noah stated. I ran over to him and he was putting Lorie on a bed. "Let's hook her up."

"What happened?" I asked.

"She got light-headed and the next thing I know, she passed out," Noah nodded.

"Let's do the full-work up," I replied. Natalie ran in. "Hey."

"What are we doing?" Natalie asked. She grabbed the ultrasound machine and checked Lorie's abdomen. "Oh, my God."

"What?" I asked. I looked at the screen. "Lorie's pregnant." We started working quicker. "Maggie, I need you to get ahold of Jay."

"On it," Maggie left the room.

"We got them both stabled," I sighed. We let Lorie rest. About an hour later, Jay walked in. "Jay."

"Where is she?" Jay asked.

"Treatment four, and she's stabled," I pointed. "Hey, Jay." I stopped him. "Why didn't you tell me she was pregnant?"

"Because we agreed to wait to tell anybody. We just agreed to tell Voight today," Jay looked at me. "We were going to throw an announcement party with a gender reveal party. I would've thought word would've gotten around here." I looked at Jay. "No, you have no right to look at me like that. You were the one that wanted her gone."

"Not the way I had planned," I replied. "It wasn't the way I wanted. Not the way I wanted Nat either."

"Will, time to let it go," Jay sighed.

"Jay," Sharon walked over to us. "How is she?"

"Stabled," Jay nodded. "Um, I wanna request that Will is not Lorie's doctor."

"May I ask why?" Sharon asked.

"Conflict of interest," Jay stated.

"Jay," I stated as he walked to Lorie's room. "Ms. Goodwin."

"I'm sorry, Will," Sharon replied. "With Lorie not being able to speak, Jay has medical rights over her as her fiancé."

"It's not right. They're not married yet," I pointed. Sharon looked at me. "This is unbelievable. Just...forget it."

Jay's POV

I sat in the chair next to Lorie's bedside. I held her hand. "Lorie, please come back to me," I stated. I felt her squeeze my hand. "Baby?" I looked at her and she opened her eyes. "Hey."

"Hi," Lorie smiled. "I'm guessing the whole hospital now knows about our baby."

"Yeah," I sighed. "You gave them quite a shock."

"I have that effect on people," Lorie stated.

"Not the time to crack jokes, babe, but I'm glad you're feeling better," I smiled.

"Jay, I got press in the waiting room," Maggie replied.

"No, we're not ready to come out yet," I nodded. "I'll be back Lorie." I walked into the waiting room. "Chicago PD, I'm going to need everyone to step outside." I got the press out of the waiting room. I went back to Lorie's room. "I got rid of them."

"Thank you," Lorie smiled. "I don't feel like dealing with the press." Once Lorie got a clean bill of health, she was released that night. We went home and she sat on the couch. "I'm sorry I scared you."

"I thought you might've been in that shootout in Millennium Park. I was so worried about you. I've called and even texted."

"I was there, but I didn't have a weapon. I ended up calling 911."

"You did the right thing," I responded. "I even got our car deep cleaned, because of the blood." Lorie looked at me and smiled. "What?"

"You said our," Lorie smiled.

"Yeah, baby. Because we have to work together to make our lives work," I smiled. "I'm willing to do what I can."

"Okay, then our finances can't be the root cause of our issues," Lorie stated. "You we're angry that I was looking at buying a house when we had just bought a car."

"Yeah, I understand that now, Lorie. I don't blame that on you. I understand that you saved all that money," I nodded. "And I understand you saved it for this purpose. I love you, Lorie. I'm happy that you thought ahead. I never had that in life." Lorie looked at me and smiled. "And I know we talk about this a lot because you're always worried, but whenever you're ready for us to go public, I'm right there with you."
