Sigh.
I turned my phone off as soon as the call ended and put it back inside my pearl-beaded handbag. I blew a small breath that flew my curtain bangs. I started to fix my things while contemplating what should I do next, I recalled what my assistant have told me over the phone. Kaya nga siya yung pinadala ko dun sa event na pinagcateran nang restaurant namin so she could represent in my behalf.
Without other choices, I stood up and fixed myself. But I still needed to be ready incase hindi talaga mapaki- usapan yung Dean namin na hindi ako makakapunta. I took a deep breath while looking at the full-length mirror in front of me. I was dressed in a satin hot red lace-up backless, puff sleeves bodycon dress and paired it with Christian Louboutin silver strapped pump heels.
Contented with how I look, I left my office. Natraffic pa ako on my way to the venue. And my friends keep on bombarding me with questions kung nasaan na ako at kung pupunta pa ba ako. I ignored their messages and calls hanggang sa makarating ako sa event hall. Sighing, I cheered myself and stepped out of my car. Typing in my phone to inform my assistant and friends that I already arrived- I locked my car and walked confidently towards the crowd of people.
I know I could slay this night like I always do. It's not like I didn't see them- him ever since everything that we've been through, kaya koto!! When I finally arrived at the entrance of the function hall I was stopped by a familiar voice calling my name behind me. I was about to ignore her at papasok na sana sa event hall para mapuntahan yung mga kaibigan at staff ko na kanina pa naghihintay sa akin when a petite girl in green velvet dress hopped in front of me. Mira.
It's been eight years since the last time that I go here. Eight years, and still I'm not totally over with this place. I'm still not comfortable to be with the people who witnessed my stupidity. Mira cheerfully hugged me that made me halt out of surprise. Nang kumawala na siya sa pagkakayakap sa akin she was smiling widely making me smile awkwardly.
