Later that day, when I was originally meant to be doing homework, I was actually in my room playing xbox. The online shooting game I was playing was starting to get intense, which eventually got me frustrated, which then made me lose. “Damn it!” I hissed.

I wasn’t aware that my mom had walked into the room until she spoken up, right after she cleared her throat. “Aren’t you supposed to be doing your homework?” My eyes popped open a little and I immediately turned my backside over to face her. I smiled. “I finished it ages ago.” She folded her arms and shook her head with her eyes closed, and a small smile showing upon her face. “Well, whatever. Look Mike, honey. I’m already out of coffee and there isn’t too much food left in the cupboard. So I’ll be out doing the shopping, do you want me to get you anything?” She asked. I shifted my attention back to my Xbox and turned it off as well as the TV and walked over to her. “Nah it’s cool, I’ll just come with you anyway.” Mom had an overwhelmed smile on her face as she leaned her hand on her right shoulder. “Aw, your such a good boy. Come here!” She then pulls me in a tight hug with a big old sloppy kiss and pulls back. Mom quickly fixes up my collar and walks out of my room. I straightaway rubbed my cheek she kissed on several times and then fixed up my collar. “Argh, gross mom!” I laughed with annoyance.

We then were driving by the market as we drove by past the café. It looked busy, I wondered if Claire was working today. But she wasn’t important. There were also quite a few people at the grocery shops, especially mothers… with annoying babies that just wouldn’t stop crying. We were in the yoghurt section. To be honest I was quite bored. I should of stayed home and asked if she could bring me anything fun related for me, or something like that. I was staring out into the middle of nowhere, mom was having trouble to decide which yoghurts to choose.

“Hmm, which one should we get Mike? Vanilla flavored or Honey? They’re both so good, you know? They’re also very healthy as well…” I know this was rude of me, but I dazed off. I turned my head to the right so I wasn’t looking at her, or hearing her for that matter. Everything and everyone around my surroundings stopped when I saw her.

Therese. The girl who first asked me a question today was standing at checkout, all alone, looking like she was about to be served. I had this sudden urge that was running through me to chase her. I followed my instincts. I looked quickly over my shoulder and tapped mom gently on her shoulder. “Hey mom, I’ll be right back” I promised. I started jogging up to her straight while I was avoiding some people and they’re over weighted trollies too. “Sorry” I said every time I accidentally bumped into someone.  I was out of the isle I was in and looked at the check out line, she was already served. Walking away. I rushed through the people throughout the check out line and apologized to everyone who I also bumped into. There were a few “Hey, watch it kid!” and “Watch where your going buddy!” from a few people.

I was finally out and she still hadn’t noticed I was chasing after her. “Therese!” I shouted loud enough to hear. Her legs stopped moving as she came to a halt, swooshing her shoulder length layered hair as soon as she turned around, smiling with those green, gorgeous and bright colored eyes of hers. “Mike, hey!” She saluted. We walked up to each other and gave a quick hug. “How are you? What are you doing here? Stalking me?” She joked and then shared the same laugh. “Cute, but no. I’m actually shopping here, picking up the grocery’s with my mom-HUH?” I seem to exaggerate the last part of my sentence as I just realized what I said. I felt embarrassed. I could feel the blood rushing up to my cheeks as I scratched the back of my head and shut my eyes tight. I heard that gorgeous giggle of hers. “Aw, your so sweet! You really do care about your mom, huh?” She asks, while looking over a certain direction. I looked above my shoulder and saw her at checkouts. I gave Therese a quick smile. “Hey, don’t feel embarrassed about it! I think it’s pretty cool how you spend some time with her. Not many guys at all do that with their moms. I actually find it pretty cute and attractive. So chin up cowboy.” She stated, joking with the last bit while pushing me gently. “Thanks.” I gave her a generous smile, and something in her eyes twinkled.  “Your welcome…” We looked at each other for quite a few seconds, we weren’t aware of it until mom intruded.
