Chapter 8

🐶Bruno🐶

I left the cupcake shop with Roxy and Melissa. We made our way into the atrium. As soon as we were in the atrium, some children ran up to me and Roxy and asked us for autographs. The children's parents took photos of us with their mobile phones, but without a flash lights.

"I love having so many fans, I'm just the best and everyone loves me." said the female wolf proudly.

I see Bonnie signing an autograph for one of his fans. I waved at him with a smile.

The purple rabbit smiled and waved back, then noticed little Melissa and walked over to us.

"Hey, I saw this girl here in the atrium yesterday. Her parents treated her pretty roughly." said Bonnie.

"Her name is Melissa. She was abandoned here so me and Roxy are taking care of the little girl now." answered I him.

"And we will be the perfect parents." Roxy said with a soft smile and snuggled up to me, tail wagging.

"Yes that's right. You will be the best mother and I will be a good father." said I, gently rubbing my nose against the female wolf's cheek for a moment.

Melissa clung to Roxy's leg and looked shyly at Bonnie.

The purple rabbit nodded, smiling, and then adjusted his sunglasses. "Then little Melissa can lucky that you two are looking after her." he said and looked at the girl kindly.

"Besides, I'm her favorite character at the Pizzaplex." said the female wolf happily and stroked the girl's head.

I looked lovingly at Roxy.

Suddenly Sarah came running and happily hugged the female wolf. Roxy was happy to see her biggest fan.

Melissa hid behind Roxy's right leg. She have a little scared of Sarah.

"Can we go to your racetrack? I'm sure I can beat you in a race again." said Sarah to the female wolf. "Maybe this time you'll be lucky and your kart won't stop right in front of the finish line."

"You certainly can't beat me in a race again." Roxy said confidently and laughed.

"Well, we'll see about that." said Sarah and grinned cheekily.

"Can I come with you? I'd like to see that kart race." said Bonnie.

Me and Roxy nodded. The female wolf took Melissa by the hand then we made our way to Roxy Raceway.

When we got to Roxy Raceway I sat down on a bench with Bonnie and Melissa while Roxy and Sarah got their karts ready for the race.

Sarah again had to use a kart with a driver assistant bot.

Suddenly, next to the big golden Roxy statue, I saw this strange red-eyed figure again. "Are you having fun yet?" heard I this figure say. I got up from the bench and ran away.

"Bruno what's the matter? Why are you running away?" Bonnie called after me confused.

I sat on the bench with little Melissa. "Bruno? What's the matter?" called I after the brown dog. Roxy came to me with sadly hanging ears. "Why...why did Bruno run away?" she asked with tears in her eyes.
"I don't know." answered I Roxy and put my hand gently on her shoulder. The female wolf looked in the direction Bruno had run away.

"Roxy? Can we start the kart race?" cried Sarah to the female wolf.

A few tears flowed down Roxy's cheeks. She was still looking in the direction the brown dog had run away. "I don't think I feel like karting anymore." Roxy said in a low voice and sat down next to me on the bench, sniffling.

I took the female wolf in my arms to comfort her. "Go and drive the kart race with Sarah. You don't want to disappoint her, do you?" said I to her.

"No, I don't want to disappoint Sarah." answered the female wolf, getting up from the bench. She walked back to Sarah and the two got ready for the kart race.

"On your marks, get set, go." shouted Roxy and drove off immediately. Sarah drove behind and tried to catch up at full speed and overtake the female wolf.

"I will win!" shouted the female wolf. "I'm the BEST!"

Roxy drove across the track at high speed and Sarah had no chance of overtaking her in any way. Roxy crossed the finish line first. Overjoyed, the female wolf jumped out of her kart and hopped up and down, tail wagging. "I won. I won. I'm the winner. I'm the best." said she.

Me and Melissa clapped our hands.

Sarah climbed out of her kart and walked over to the female wolf and hugged her. "Congratulations Roxy." said the girl smiling.

"Thank you my sweet biggest fan." said Roxy. She looked at Sarah and smiled back.

Then the female wolf walked to me with Sarah. "It's a pity that Bruno didn't see how I won the race." said Roxy sadly.

"Why did Bruno run away in the first place? Is he alright?" asked Sarah.

"I don't know why he ran away." answered I.

"I hope he's fine. I'm getting more and more worried about Bruno. I have to find him and talk to him." said Roxy, whimpering and with tears in her eyes.

"We can take Melissa to Sundrop's daycare then he can look after the little one while we look for Bruno." I said to Roxy.

Roxy nodded.

Sarah went back to her mother.

"Is Sundrop kind to children?" asked Melissa.

Roxy looked at the girl softly. "Yes Sundrop is very nice with children. He loves children more than anything. You will have a lot of fun with him in his daycare my sweet little Melissa." said the female wolf.

"Okay Roxy." said Melissa smiling and cuddling her plushie.

Roxy took the girl by the hand then we made our way to Superstar Daycare.
