Chapter 28

🐶Bruno🐶

Me, Roxanne and Sarah got into the karts and drove out of the garage to the starting line. The female wolf looked so adorable in her black racer outfit that I couldn't stop staring dreamily at her.

Roxy looked to me and smiled softly. "Bruno do you want to say the words to start the race or do you want to keep staring at me so sweetly. My sweet dog." said she then lovingly.

Sarah looked to me too and giggled softly.

I blushed and quickly looked away from the beautiful Roxy. "Um...uh..." I stuttered. "Um...get set, go." shouted I the words to start the race with twitching ears.

Me, Roxanne and Sarah put on the acclerator at the same time and immediately drove off at speed. Roxy drove in the front while me and Sarah drove behind the female wolf then Sarah caught up and overtook Roxanne.

"I will win!" the girl shouted happily and drove quickly across the purple-lit race track.

"Oh, do you really think you can beat me, little Sarah? I'm the best racer. You won't win against me again, so you'd better give up. I will win." the female wolf shouted, adjusted her black sunglasses and raced across the race track at full speed, leaving me and Sarah behind her.

"Don't rejoice too soon my pretty Roxy because this time I will win the race." shouted I, my eyes shining happily, as I drove past Sarah at speed and caught up with Roxanne until I was driving alongside her. Sarah tried to overtake me but I don't give her a chance.

Roxy looked at me briefly. "You're a good kart driver Bruno but you still won't win." said she. Her long silver hair flowed so beautifully in the wind. Suddenly Sarah overtook me and then tried to overtake Roxanne, but the female wolf put full speed again and raced across the track at even faster speeds. "I am the best and the coolest." Roxanne shouted in a boastful voice.

"That is fun." said the girl laughing and kept trying to overtake Roxanne.

Me, Roxanne and Sarah drove through the rock tunnel at speed and got closer and closer to the finish line.

Roxanne didn't let me or Sarah overtake her and raced across the finish line cheering. "Won!" she shouted happily and hopped out of her kart, tail wagging. "I'm the winner."

I was still driving behind Sarah but I couldn't manage to overtake her. She briefly looked over her shoulder to me, grinned and cheekily stuck her tongue out at me. "Bye Bruno." The girl reached the finish line second and Roxanne gave her a small silver trophy.

I continued driving across the track towards the finish line. Suddenly I was distracted when I saw an endoskeleton wandering around near the rock cave. "An skeleton?" I stopped paying attention to where I was driving and crashed into a pile of stacked tires. I whimpered.

I was buried under the tires. The kart was slightly dented and I felt a sharp pain in my right arm and chest.

"Oh no! Bruno! Bruno!" I heard Sarah call out in shock.

"Bruno?! Oh god are you okay?" I heard Roxy call, whimpering.

Then I heard footsteps. Roxy? Sarah?

The female wolf moved all the tires aside and gently took my face in her hands. "Are you okay? Bruno?" Roxy asked worriedly and continued to whimper. "Bruno...talk to me! Talk to me!"

"Don't worry Roxy. I'm...I'm okay. I'm...really okay." said I absently and looked towards the rock cave but the endoskeleton was nowhere to be seen. "I...was probably a little...distracted." I rubbed my head.

Roxanne flattened her ears and was still completely worried. She gently stroked my cheek. "You're not okay Bruno! Look at you, you look like a wild lion attacked you!" said she. Parts of my endoskeleton were visible on my right arm and chest.
