With the female wolf getting two karts ready for the race, we were now on the starting line ready to race.

I smiled at Roxy. The female wolf's eyes still glittered with sure of victory. "I'm the best racer you can't beat me Bruno." Roxy said to me and then smiled back softly.

"I am very sure that I can win the race against you. Sarah managed to beat you in the race once and if your biggest fan managed to win a race against you then I can do it too." said I.

Roxy laughed gently and said. "Sarah was only able to beat me in the race because my kart just stopped before the finish line. If my kart hadn't stopped I would have won and not Sarah." the female wolf flattened her ears slightly.

I smiled again. "Say the words to start the kart race Roxy. I'm ready." said I. On my first day at the Pizzaplex Roxy taught me how to go karting a bit I hoped I remembered everything she had explained to me that day.

"On your marks, get set, go!" shouted Roxy the words to start the race then she put the pedal to the metal and immediately drove fast across the track. "I am the best and I will win." she shouted in a happy voice. Her kart left a cloud of dust as it sped across the track. I first had to think about how to start and then remembered how to start I drove at full sped across the track and tried to catch up with the female wolf.

I was catching up to Roxy and was almost driving next to her. "Maybe I'll win the race." said I, overtaking the female wolf at full speed. Now I drove in front and Roxy drove behind me but I didn't drove in front for long as the female wolf accelerated even more and sped past me. "Bye my sweet dog, see you at the finish line." said the female wolf. I tried to somehow overtake Roxy again, but the female wolf didn't give me a chance to catch up and drove across the track at breakneck speed. The finish line was already visible.

"Or...maybe I won't win the race." said I then quietly to myself and gave full sped one last time, but I couldn't catch up with Roxy anymore. The female wolf was drive way too fast across the track and I couldn't overtake again. Roxy reached the finish line first and won the race. I reached the finish line after her and stopped my kart next to her kart.

I got out of the kart and smiled at the female wolf. "Congratulations." said I in a soft voice to Roxy.

Roxy happily hopped out of her kart. Her tail wagged back and forth. "I told you you can't beat me in a race." said she to me. "But...you could be a good racer." she snuggled up to me and gently rubbed her nose against my cheek for a moment.

"Um..th..thanks Roxy. It was fun racing." said I to the female wolf. My cheeks turned red. I gently pulled Roxy closer in my arms. "But I lost the race and you don't like losers. Am...am I a loser to you now?" asked I then the female wolf with hanging ears.

Roxy gently lifted my chin and looked lovingly into my eyes. "You are not a loser for me Bruno. You really have the potential to become a good racing driver. You drove the kart very well." she said and then kissed me briefly. "Wait I want to give you a gold medal I want you to get a medal." said she then.

"A gold medal?" I asked with wide eyes. "But only the winners get gold medals."

"But I want you to get a gold medal." said the female wolf again. She carefully placed a shiny gold medal around my neck.

"Oh..um, thank you very much. I really like the medal." said I. I gently pressed my nose to Roxy's nose for a moment.

The female wolf snuggled closer to me again. She laid her head on my shoulder and then slowly wrapped her tail around my tail. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the great moment. Suddenly we heard a loud beebing. Startled, Roxy stopped snuggling up against me and looked around, ears perked up. "What was that?" asked she. I flattened my ears with a growl as an endoskeleton popped out from behind a rock. "A stupid ugly skeleton." answered I her. Roxy immediately clung to my arm.
