As Selina puts me on the car seat she gently says: "Try to sleep on the way back, alright? You need to rest." She smiles at me softly. I hum and nod tiredly, then ask her: "Are you really okay? Seriously really okay?" She ruffles my hair: "Stop worrying, Soleil. I'll be alright. I'm gonna protect you." But who will protect you?
She goes to the other side of the car and gets in. She starts the car and starts driving. "Do you feel bad for... umm... unaliving those hunters?" I ask her quietly. She is quiet for some time, looking at the road, her expression unreadable.
"No," she starts calmly, "we were the ones attacked, I was just protecting you." She goes quiet again. "But they fucking deserve it," she growls lowly, her voice laced with hatred. "No one can attack my Soleil and get away with it." I blush at that bold statement, but smile secretly.
"You like it when I call you mine huh? Ma Soleil~" she says with a playful voice. "Stooop," I whine embarassed. "And why would I do that when you give such pleasant reactions, love?" Asksjsgeyist. She chuckles while I gaypanic hard.
"Ok now, stop gaypanicking and seriously rest," she says softly. "Okay," I smile lovingly and close my eyes, still feeling a bit drowsy. I fall asleep almost immediately.
-----------------
I feel the car stop and before I can open my eyes I already feel myself getting lifted from my seat. I open my eyes and come face to face with Selina, looking right into her emerald eyes. Still dazed I subconsciously stare at her. "You okay, ma Soleil?" She asks, chuckling. I blush and avert my eyes. "Yeah, sure, yeah."
Selina kicks the car door closed and carries me to the hotel room. She gently puts me down on the bed and sits next to my head. "Do you feel better?" "My head is good now...but my shoulder still hurts." She nods in understanding and reaches down, grabbing the hem of my T-shirt. "What are you doing!?" I yell in panic. "I need to check your shoulder, ma Soleil. Now now, where did your beautiful mind go?" She smirks in amusement and I blush in embarassement again, letting her take off my T-shirt.
She gently places her hands on the side of my torso and turns me so I'm laying on my side. "Wait. What's that?" I look at her confused. "What's what?" She touches my shoulder and I hiss in pain. "It looks like a small device..." Suddenly she pauses.
"Fuck. Soleil..." I turn my head to look at her as her voice turns worried. "I think that's a tracker." My eyes widen in panic. "A tracker?! Get it off!" She gently rubs my shoulder. "This will probably hurt. Try to endure it." I can feel her fingers moving on my shoulder next to the painful spot. She takes hold of the tracker and pulls at it a bit first. I hiss in pain, but before I could completely process it she pulls stronger. I feel the device coming out my shoulder and a dull pain with it. I yelp a bit, but sigh in relief afterwards.
I hear a growl from behind me. I turn around and see Selina staring at my shoulder with red eyes. I check my shoulder and see blood coming from the wound. "Crap... Selina? Can you hear me? You can beat it. I know you can." She shakes her head, trying to come back to her senses. She blocks her nose with her hand and turns away.
"Soleil..." I can see she's fighting her thirst. She runs to the bathroom and comes out with a plaster. She quickly sticks it on my shoulder. After that she opens the door to the balcony and stands outside on the fresh air, away from the smell of blood.
I fall back on the bed and rest until she comes back in. "We have to go. Now." I nod and get up. We quickly pack up our bags and leave the room. We check out at the reception. It's dark outside.
As we're driving away we see some suspicious looking cars tailing us. "Hope you don't get sick in the car, ma Soleil. We're speeding up." Selina warns, assesing the distance between us and our followers in the rear-view mirror. I gulp and turn my eyes to the road in front of us as Selina steps on the gas.
But the hunters are still right behind us. As Selina's focusing on sticking to the bumpy road, I'm looking back and forth, from the road in front and back to the black cars from the hunters, in panic. I momentarily gaze at Selina and her expression makes me even more panicked. "Selina, what's wrong?" "Unbuckle yourself, Soleil. We need to get out. Now."
I do as I'm told, confused and scared, then I look towards Selina and see a car, driving straight into us. I freeze in fear. Meanwhile Selina unbuckles herself, moves me to the side and kicks my car door open. She picks me up and jumps out of the speeding car. THIS IS CRAZY!! After "safely" landing she grips my wrist and runs into the woods.
We come to a clearing and Selina spots a large tree with a hole in its trunk. "Hide in there, Soleil. I'll come back for you after dealing with the hunters." I protest right away: "No! I'm not leaving you alone with those bastards!" Selina sighs and gazes at me softly: "Soleil, I can't put you in any more danger than I already have. I'd never forgive myself if anything happened to you. So please, stay here." I nod reluctantly. "Just be careful." She nods, looking at me reassuringly before running out of sight. I sigh and hope I made the right decision while climbing into my hiding spot.
Selina POV
After hiding Soleil I cover our tracks and try to lead them elsewhere. As I'm running through the forest, I hear an arrow whistle through the air. Well...fuck. Let's hope it's just a couple of them. I dodge the arrow and quickly turn around to face the attacker.
I see three men taking shelter behind the trees, crossbows out, and one man running towards me, stake in hand. I run towards him, dodging the incoming arrows while I'm at it.
The man raises his stake, getting ready to stab me. I catch his armed hand, yanking him towards me and punching him straight into the gut, which sends him flying to the floor.
I pick up the stake and hiss because of the contact, quickly throwing it into one of the archers' heads. I take cover behind a tree before the remaining two archers can shoot me.
I'm feeling weaker than before the fight. I guess that's the lack of blood. Ugh, how am I supposed to get rid of them now?! They are definitely still pointing their crossbows towards me...
I tear a bit of a bigger branch off the tree and snap it in half, jump towards the next tree and throw the pointy branch into the side of the archer. That worked, luckily. Now, what to do with the last one...
As I'm thinking about a new strategy I hear the remaining archer speak: "Hiding is pointless. As soon as the other hunters rescue your victim you'll be surrounded." What is he?... Soleil! My blood boils at the thought of Soleil in their hands and I leap towards the archer with newfound strength, dodging his arrow, kicking the crossbow out of his hand and biting into his neck, drinking his blood so harshly I split his neck in half. I'm coming, Soleil!
Soleil POV
I have a bad feeling about this... I should have stayed with Selina... What if something happens to her?? My thought process gets interrupted when I hear branches snapping and leaves crackling nearby. Oh god. Please be an animal.
I hug my knees against my chest and listen to the noises outside. They're getting louder and louder. I can see a man walking towards my hiding spot. Fuck, what now!? I have nowhere to go! I'm freaking out and wishing Selina were here.
"I'm coming, Soleil!" Huh? I can hear her again... I smile. She's coming. For a second I forget about my surroundings and the next thing I feel is a hand gripping my ankle. I scream. "Don't worry, we're here to save you!" Says the man and I yell back: "Who said I need to be saved!? Leave me alone!" I trash in his hold, but his grip is too strong. "Selina!" I scream, hoping she's near enough to hear it. The man covers my mouth after.
