10. I lost her again...

Selina POV

I push the hunter's body away after sucking his wretched life out of him. I sense another one coming at me from behind and slam him against the wall with my hand on his neck. "Tell me where your fucking headquarters is!" I slowly apply pressure on his wind pipe. He still doesn't want to give it away. I growl in frustration, then look at him coldly: "I'll torture you in whichever way I need to get what I want."

"Woah woah, easy girl." Klaus grips me by my shoulder and pulls me away from the hunter, another guardian seazing him instead. "Why did you do that!? I was getting him to talk!" Klaus replies, matter of factly: "Killing him in the process won't tell us anything. You need to calm down first." I sigh: "I know, I'm just upset because I'm nowhere closer to finding my friend." It feels so weird to call her a friend... She's so much more...

We hear a yell from behind and turn around. I see a staked guardian on the floor and a hunter running in my direction. I pin him to the floor and rip off his mask with the intention to bite into his neck. But upon gazing at the blue orbs under me, I completely freeze.

"S-s-soleil!?" I feel tears of joy forming in the corners of my eyes. "I finally found yo -" I suddenly feel a sharp pain in my side. Soleil just...stabbed me... I know I need to remove the stake as soon as possible, but I can't seem to move from all the shock and hurt coursing through me.

"Soleil... Why? Do you not remember me?" I look at her with hurt in my eyes. But her gaze remains cold. I feel someone yank me away and pull out the stake, probably Klaus, I don't know what's happening around me.

I come back to my senses only when I see her on the floor, Klaus standing over her and ready to deliver a finishing blow. I get up in an instant and kick Klaus in the back, sending him flying into the building in the front. "Soleil! It's me! Selina! What have they done to you!?" She stands up and looks at me coldly, almost with hatred. "They fixed me. Made me capable of slaying monsters just like you." I feel my heart breaking. "You're not my Soleil. No..." I'm holding back tears.

She lunges towards me with no regards to my current state, I simply dodge her. I'm not hurting you, no matter what you say about me. I hear Klaus yell: "Selina! We're leaving!" We've already eliminated other hunters and siezed one for questioning, but I just can't leave her. "Then leave without me!" I have to save her. "Selina," Klaus warns. "It's an order." I glance at him and spit out: "I don't fucking care! She's the reason I joined your clan in the first place!"

Klaus sighs and turns to the other guardians: "Help her capture the hunter. Then we're leaving." The remaining five guardians charge towards me and Soleil. You better not harm a single hair on her. I dodge another one of Soleil's attempts to stake me. Then she obviously notices the guardians charging towards us and types something onto a small screen on her wrist.

Then I hear a loud engine nearby. A helicopter? Fuck, how do I capture her without hurting her?! I lunge towards Soleil with other guardians right behind me, but as I'm about to grab her the helicopter blasts about a dozen wooden bullets our way.

"Take cover!" I hear someone yell. No! You can't go! "Soleil!" I desperately yell after her while dodging bullets. She's already climbing the ladder hanging off the helicopter. Wait. Could that help? I take the small wolf statuette from my pocket, which I've been carrying around with me ever since I found it in the car, and throw it at her. "Catch!" Luckily she does. Because after that all I see is a small dot in the sky. I lost her again...

Soleil POV

I feel the wind blowing harshly around me, threatening to throw me off the ladder. I barely escaped... They almost killed me. I want to climb up, but I realize I'm still holding the thing that vampiress threw at me. I open my hand carefully, not sure if it could be dangerous.
