"At Edwin's office:

It's been weeks now since Edwin and Edward met and for some reason Edwin couldn't bring himself to kill the girl like he always does with his enemies. Because of this, they had no choice but to inform elders of the McCarthy family about Elan cancelling the marriage between the two families just for a commoner. Though the elders in McCarthy family were giving the couple and Elan's family a hard time, Elan and Mary were still hell-bent on cancelling the engagement.

"The whole situation seems off, after so many years they're only cancelling the engagement now?" Edward said, they were sitting in Edwin's office discussing their plans.

"At this point we have to do something. Bending won't get us anywhere, we can use the new deal against them." Edwin replied, he was never the type to run out of ideas to eliminate the enemy.

"I don't think that's a good idea, we've invested so much in this project. If we use this against them, the elders might turn their backs against us." Edward said worried.

"Elders turning their backs against us is the least of our problems right now. All we have to do is make those arrogant bastards bend down to us. That's the only way to get what we want." Edwin explained.

The idea sounded good but it still didn't sit well with Edward. As long as they got what they wanted, they were willing to do anything.

"If we cancel this contract with them, which company are we going to sign with?" Edward asked.

"I have prepared everything for this war, brother. All you have to do is trust me" Edwin said smiling devilishly.

At McCarthy family house:

"I can see that y'all want this marriage to happen but the same family you want us to engage with terminated the contract that cost billions with us." Mrs. Mary said to the elders calmly.

She was well prepared for this kind of thing to happen. Edward and his brother were also known for their pettiness after all.

"We don't care about the contract, we can still recover in a few months!" The first elder thundered.

"Which contract?" Asked the second elder.

"I know we can recover in a few months but that doesn't mean we'll allow people drive us in every direction they want. People who sit in offices for hours know how much this contract mean to the business" Mrs. Mary explained, she was teasing the elders intentionally.

"What? You disrespectful woman! You... *Cough... Cough...* The third elder couldn't even complete his sentence as he started coughing badly. He was truly enraged, Mary was clearly looking down on them.

"Third uncle, please be careful how you do things and carry yourself. Your health is deteriorating, if you die who'll fight for those who're against this family?" Mary ridiculed.

"Woman! You can't talk to your elders like that! You really buried all your manners with your husband's body!" The first elder exploded.

"I'm glad I buried all my manners with my husband's body because at least I'm willing to fight for this family!" Mary said through her clenched teeth. Her husband's death was her limit of endurance.

Somewhere in the city in a nightclub:

Edward was sitting in a room waiting for the other party, he couldn't wait to sign the contract so they can proceed with their other plans. The other person he was waiting for showed up few minutes later. It was a young woman wearing a business suit with a short formal skirt. She was disgusted by the place but she had to endure it for few moments. Entering the room, she hid the disgust on her face and placed a sweet smile with her eyes soft. Edward stood up to greet the other  party with his eyes ogling at her perfect figure, Beatrice who was representing Martin's Empire felt like vomiting blood when she saw the look in his eyes.

"I'm very disappointed because I really wanted to meet your boss" Edward said, he was still looking at her with lust.

"I'm pretty sure my boss would also love to meet you. He's outside the country at the moment and I can't say when he's coming back so I was assigned to complete this task. So if you don't mind mr. Jacobs, we can start discussing the contract." Beatrice said in a sweet voice.

"Of course" Edward replied and they started discussing business.

Few moments later in a car outside the club:

"Thank you for getting this job done" James said to Beatrice.

"It's nothing, sir. I'm just glad I was able to help" Beatrice replied.

"You may feel it's nothing but this means a lot to our boss."

"Now that we got this contract, let's not waste any more time" Mrs. Pam said.

"Yes. So, what's next?" James asked. He was very excited for this game.

"We'll start by leaking the information about the illegal things Edward did as soon as he became the CEO with concrete proof attached to it tonight. They're waiting for the new mall to be on the headlines tomorrow, so let's give them a surprise." Mrs. Pam said.
