"At Jacobs mansion:

Kathrine fell asleep after breaking down in front of Edwin for the first time, she was exhausted. She's been making calls all day after Edward left with the police but all of it was not a success.

Lea woke up and found her mother sleeping on the couch, this scene broke her heart, and she knew at that moment she can't play the spoilt brat part because they all needed to do something to free her father. She went back upstairs and came back with her purse and went out.

At Elan's house:

Mrs. Mary was busy with some office files when a maid told her Lea would like to meet her. She agreed to meet Lea because she knew they had nothing against each other though Lea stopped coming to their home after they cancelled the engagement.

"Lea, what a pleasant surprise!" Mrs. Mary said when she saw Lea in the living room.

"Uhm... Good afternoon aunty" Lea greeted back with a stiff smile on her face.

"Good afternoon, babyy. It's been a long time since we met" Mrs. Mary said seating on the couch next Lea.

Seeing her sweet face Lea felt like cursing her out loud. What a pretentious woman! After messing their family, she still has the nerve to smile so sweetly at her face. Mrs. Mary felt that Lea felt a little different but she shrugged it off thinking the girl was just gloomy because of what was going on in her family.

"It's been a long time, aunty. I wanted to talk to you about something" Lea said with a shaking voice.

"Alright but first, would you like something to drink?" Mrs. Mary said trying to easy the tension in the house.

"NO, aunty. Your people already attended to me i'm really fine" Lea said.

"Alright then what did you want to talk about?"

"Aunty, I really don't know how to say this and please forgive me if I'm wrong. The thing is, things have been pretty bad at home after cancelling the engagement. I thought things would go back to normal after the two families sort their things out but I was wrong" Lea said breaking down.

After keeping quiet for such a long time, she finally broke down. She pretended to be strong for a long time and now she felt like the whole world has fallen on her. She really couldn't take it no more.

"Lea baby, in as much as i wanted you and Elan together we both know Elan wasn't feeling the same way you felt about him. And it's all our fault as the parents for dragging this and putting you both under pressure, so stop beating yourself. You did nothing wrong" Mrs. Mary consoled her. She felt for the girl, after so many years investing in a one-sided love, everything comes to an end just like that and she's left with nothing.

"I wanted to ask if you could at least drop the charges against my father. I really don't know what to do, my mom is a mess and nobody is willing to get us out of this mess. Please, you're the only one who can bring an end to this" Lea said looking at Mary with eyes full of hope.

"Lea, I think you're misunderstanding something. My family and I have nothing to do with everything that's happening in you're family right now" Mary explained. She couldn't believe that's what the Jacobs thought about them.

In as much as she felt that the Jacobs were too pretentious, she wouldn't interfere with them because she wanted peace for her children not justice for things that had nothing to do with her family.

"Then why's everything turning up-side-down after cancelling the engagement?" Lea said wiping tears that were flowing like a river on her face.

"I don't really have an answer to that but trust me there's no such thing as coincidence. Everything happens for a reason, though this is a puzzle even to me but we'll know the truth soon." Mrs. Mary said.

Lea thought for a moment and felt that what Mrs. Mary said made sense. Maybe there's more to this than what she's thinking.

"So aunty, can you help me help my family at least? I know I'm asking for too much and you can refuse me if you want to." Lea said.

"There's nothing much I can do for your family plus we ain't on good terms with your family at the moment so I don't know how to help you. Maybe you can start by investigating the mysterious behind this case and the CEO of Martin's Empire because a lot of things don't add up about this whole thing" Mrs. Mary gave her a clue, she knew that she sounded like a joke but she knew there's something going on and all of this things can add up.

"I think that makes sense, so I'll look into it. Thank for your time and I'm so sorry for accusing you like that." Lea said and got ready to leave.

At mrs. Pam's office:

James just came back from Jacobs company and was reporting the situation to Mrs. Pam in her office.

"I think it will be best if we just release all the information later today. Dragging this up might leave traces which will mess the plan, what do you think" Mrs. Pam asked James.

"Well, dragging it like this will leave traces and we might have to deal with Edwin because there's no proof in everything we have against him. Plus they can't find out who you really are at this moment, it might back fire." James shared his own thoughts too. He really wanted to help that family, he had seen everything they have been through in the past few years preparing for that moment.

"Alright. We'll have to gather our team right now to prepare for this. Tonight is going to be a long night so lemme go and see Helen and we'll continue when I come back" Mrs. Pam said. She missed her daughter, she hasn't spoke to her at all that day.

At Edwin's office:

"I think she's right, Lea and thanks for helping but right now you have to sit back. This could be more dangerous than we all think. For now, go and be with your mother. She needs you, I know that sounds ridiculous but you have to be strong for both of your parents right now." Edwin said. When Lea came into his office with all that information he thought it was crazy but after giving it some thought, he thought it might lead them to what they're looking for.

"Alright, uncle. Please be careful about this whole thing, my left eye has been twitching last week." Lea said and got up to leave.

as soon as she left, Edwin gathered his team to do investigations. He could also tell that the other party was too powerful and its someone who's been watching their every move for years otherwise they wouldn't have so much information.

At a restaurant in the  in the city:

Mrs. Pam had to meet Helen in town because she was currently with Elan at the restaurant having their lunch together. Entering the  restaurant, she located Helen and her face immediately brightened up. Helen was the light of her life and was the one who kept her going on even when she felt like giving up sometimes.

"Mom" Helen said as soon as she saw her mother.

"Hey baby. I'm sorry for leaving without seeing you this morning, I really had pressing issues at work and tonight I won't be able to come home as there's a lot of work to do so please tell Sophie to take a good care of you" Mrs. Pam said in one breath.

"Mom, slow down. I understand and i feel for you so relax. You haven't greeted Elan yet." Helen said laughing. S he could tell her mother was really stressed so she didn't want to worry her with any other thing so she kept quiet about everything that's happening in school.

"I'm really sorry. Elan, I'll see you guys later, enjoy your meal plus I dont wanna be a third wheel so you guys go ahead."

"It's alright ma'am. I can feel that you're in a hurry so I'll take Helen back to school after this meal." Elan said coolly. He could feel somthing was off and the fact that he knew nothing about Mrs. Pam's job intrigued his curiosity.
