Narcia leaned against her wall, her head tilting back as she looked at the ceiling. It had been a whole day so far since Liam had gone missing. Her heart ached to be reunited with her mate, not that he felt the same, of course. He most likely wasn't even thinking of her. She wondered if he was scared, if he missed her maybe a bit. But she quickly shook the idea out of her head. There was no way he was thinking of her in such a scary situation.
"Alpha... I brought you some crackers. Please try to eat some." One of her pack member's said as they walked in, gently pushing the plate near her. She quickly slapped it out of their hands, a low growl leaving her as her eyes glowed.
It didn't take more for the wolf to run off in fear, leaving Narcia to her demons. She looked at the plate that was now face down on the floor, bits of crackers scattered around the area. She knew she didn't need to be so agressive, it wasn't the girl's fault that her mate was missing. A frustrated sigh left her as she looked towards the window. It was so calm and silent out there, as if the graves of their pack members weren't defiled hours prior to this moment.
"I hope you are okay, Liam. I won't forgive myself if you aren't." She mumbled to herself, tears prickling her eyes. She quickly wiped them, standing up annoyed. She couldn't stand waiting around any longer. With a swift move, she caught a jacket and rushed down the stairs, putting it on as she made her way to the kitchen. She grabbed an apple on the counter and rushed towards the door with determination.
"Where do you think you're going?" Her father asked as he blocked her way, causing her to bump into him. She frowned at him, her eyes meeting his equally grey ones.
"I need to find him. Your men are clearly incompetent! It's been hours!" She said as he shook his head with a sigh, placing both his hands on her shoulders.
"It takes days... Sweetie. Days to find someone. Why do you think that 70% of missing people are never found alive? All we can do is wait and pray that we will find him still breathing." He said before she pushed his arms off, growling at him with tears in her eyes. She hated him for saying that they probably wouldn't find her mate alive. It was like saying they had already given up and were just looking for the body.
"I won't."
"What?" Her dad said in confusion, his brows furrowed as she clenched her fists.
"I won't take days. Let me out there. I will find my mate myself!" She said before something stung her neck. She quickly jumped to the side, pulling out the now nearly empty syringe. Her eyes were wide as she saw her mother's sad eyes.
"How... could you..?" She whimpered out before collapsing, her father quickly catching her as they both sighed. If he had to, he would lock up his daughter. It was for her safety.
He gently lifted her, walking to his Luna with sad eyes. She nodded to him with a comforting hand on his shoulder. She knew it was for the best, just like he did. He walked towards their basement, going down the stairs and locking her into wolf resisting chains, gently putting her on a comfortable mattress with a blanket to keep her warm. They both kissed her head and whispered an apology before both walking out, leaving the light on so she wouldn't be in the dark.

Liam slowly woke up, feeling much better after the nap he took. It felt great to be able to sleep on a mattress. He slowly sat up, stretching a bit. It was weird to trust Devan. Something felt off about the man, though he couldn't put his finger on what just yet. Liam slowly walked to the door, making his way down the steps, quickly peaking into the kitchen. He frowned as he noticed Devan was eating something, the smell soon enough reached Liam who gagged. Devan turned around to face the noise, seeing the now pale and terrified Liam who stared at the dirty slightly rotten arm that lay on Devan's plate.
"You shouldn't have seen that." He said in a dark tone, causing Liam to rush back up the stairs, his heart racing in his chest. He was in the house of a maniac, a cannibal! He didn't think these people were real, that they were scary stories for children at night. Devan was quick to get up the stairs, kicking the door open, pushing Liam to the ground since he stood behind it, his eyes wide as Devan caught his wrist.
"I can explain." He said before Liam punched him with all his might. He was back in form now that he had rested, and he knew his excessive training could pack a serious punch. Devan moved in the motion but barely seemed to have been affected by the punch. Devan let out a loud sigh and punched Liam back, nearly knocking him out on the spot. Everything was blurry, Liam felt so nauseous from the impact as blood came into his mouth.
"I can't have you do that again." He said as he picked him up gently, putting him on his shoulder as he walked down the stairs. Liam desperately tried to wiggle out of his grip, elbowing him into the ribs, causing a crack sound to resonate. Both of them tumbled down the stairs, knocking the two boys unconscious.

"He isn't answering his phone..." An older man said as he leaned back on his large chair.
"I'm sure your son will reach out. He always does eventually when he needs you." He said as the man rolled his eyes. His son only contacted him when he absolutely needed it.
"Any news on my order?"
"It seems they've all gone extinct, we wont be able to get you Kitsunes for your entertainment." The servant said as the man growled and hit his fist on the chair.
"They aren't for entertainment... I need them to reproduce... Wasn't there a couple left?"
"Yes, they passed away 13 years ago, sir... You had them hunted. They ended up crashing into the sea while fleeing." He said as the man groaned, rubbing his temples.
"Yeah, I remember them... I wanted to get that woman for myself... Didn't they have a child?"
"It went missing with them."
"So, you're telling me they've officially gone extinct?"
"Unfortunately, yes."
"Leave me alone..." The man said as the servant walked out after a bow, the man heavily sighing in annoyance.
"I suppose there's no going around it... My son will never be able to have a child of his own..." He sighed as he leaned back and looked at the kitsune head on his wall, smiling at it softly.
"Our son has grown... I wish you were here to see him... Sorry I ate you." He said as he rubbed the brink of his nose, tears brimming his eyes.
"I didn't want to... You knew that... Right?"
