Devan groaned as he kneeled besides the creature, it's fur as soft as silk, it easily reminded him of the human hidden inside, their heart as gentle as the velour he was touching.

The wolf tilted it's head, confusion showing on the beast's features, Devan didn't want him here, he didn't need the reminder of what he could lose, what he would lose eventually.

"You shouldn't be here, Matheo." Devan grunted out, not exactly pleased with this visit, he needed to be able to think clearly, lord knew he couldn't with the anchor of his problems standing before him.

"Go back home, don't come near me anymore. It's not safe, you know that." Devan tried to reason to Matheo, he knew if the wolf were to stick around, his father would lacerate him, Devan could never bare witness to it, he wouldn't allow such a thing to happen to Matheo.

The wolf whinned, Devan's heart wrenched at the sound, cursing under his breath as he looked away from Matheo, his eyes were scanning around in a desperate attempt to lock onto something to try and stabilize himself.

He didn't want to push Matheo away, god knew he just wanted to kiss him and beg him to be his mate forever, but his father already had his eyes on him, if he took him as his mate, his father would kill him in a heartbeat.

"What if I don't leave?" Matheo said, standing naked infront of Devan, the cannibal jumped a bit at the sudden response, glancing quickly before staring at the wall besides himself.

"You have to, Matheo. I can't have you around and risk yourself like you did before."

"I won't do that again, please. I don't want to be away from you Devan."

"I don't care what you want! I need you far away from me! If you stick around... I... YOU NEED TO GO, MATE!" Devan snapped at Matheo, his eyes stinging with the shattering pain of his heart.

The expression on Matheo's face said it all, the boy slapped Devan, fury in his eyes before storming out, slamming the door open before Matheo looked behind with tears streaming down his face.

"I thought you were my friend... I... I thought we were more than friends, actually. I guess I was wrong... I should have listened to Narcia." Matheo cried out before slamming the door shut, a pained wolf howl echoed in the distance as Devan collapsed on the ground holding his chest in pain.

He knew it was the right thing, it was what was necessary in order to keep the little wolf safe, he knew that and yet... his heart couldn't stop bleeding from the pain.

Narcia sighed as she sat on her couch, Liam groaning as he made a few metal bowls fall from the cupboards, she could almost pitty him.

"What in the world are you doing Liam?"

"I am hungry, so I'm making crêpes. Your kitchen just has too many things to use and not enough storage for it." Liam said as he started to pile up what he needed on the counter, glaring as Narcia giggled and shook her head.

"Look, my father is a chef. He needs all of those, its not my fault or his that you are clumsy."

"I am not clumsy, you're father needs a bigger kitchen!" Liam said with a blush as Narcia rolled her eyes, grabbing her TV remote to turn on the television, she might as well entertain herself while she was at it.

"Welcome to NYTC news, where we bring you all the latest incidents you will want to know!" The television spouted as Narcia groaned, leaning her head back.

"I miss the days where news were often more good than bad." Narcia said as Liam chuckled, putting some flour in the bowl.

"There used to be that? I only remember seeing bad things on televisions." Liam joked as she chuckled and shook her head, agreeing with him.
