A/N
Prepare for one of the biggest plot twists in the trilogy. Should I let the book end here and make a sequel? Or should I continue the book twenty chapters farther? I prefer to continue it.
~~~I forced myself to change back. Is it possible that I could shift into all the ender creatures? I drank all the potions and launched myself at the man, following the sound of his feet making crunches in contact with the grass.
Suddenly, the King appeared coming out of the cluster of trees, a group of about twenty behind him. They were all armed. His eyes were filled with anger and pure hatred, his glare tearing through mine. All the men behind him aimed their arrows at me. And the King, his sword was held in front of him. It was obviously enchanted.
The invisible fallen man stood up, and held me in place as the King walked towards me. Tears stung the back of my eyes. Was this the end? Where were Steve and Alex? All of a sudden, Storm clouds gathered within the darkness of the night, blocking out moonlight and the beauty of the stars. Searing bolts tore through the sky.
The invisible man's grip was torn off me for no reason, and he was slammed onto the cold ground. But the King had his sword raised above my head. His grip on it was torn off, and right on time, I caught it. Looks like there was someone else invisible who was on my side.
But there was a greater concern. All the King's men notched their arrows. They were on fire. I dodged arrows, moving swiftly, while some were reduced to ashes by lightning bolts. Why is every situation I'm in concern a storm?
The King pulled out another sword. He narrowed his eyes. "Nap time, Shapeshifter."
He swung it at me, while I blocked it with the enchanted diamond sword. My sword was inarguably hot. I pressed my finger to the flat of the blade. I grinned.
"Fire aspect. Learn not to mess with me." I retorted and swung my sword. I hit him with the flat of it, but he was knocked back about five blocks.
"Knockback." I muttered. "Impressive sword."
He leaped forward, pressing me down onto the ground. He neared his sword's edge to my throat. "I have defeated a shapeshifter before." He hissed. "I will not hesitate to do it again."
Sadly, I had only one choice. I closed my eyes, pretending to surrender.
"Then, good night. And for once, I shall never see your face in my territory." He said. "Too bad you won't have a proper burial. Sometimes I'm thankful for the possibility of burning dead corpses-"
I rose up as the Ender Dragon, the little diamond sword clutched between my claws- paws, err..whatever dragons have. I went back to my form, and gripped the sword tightly.
"Good night to you, just to let you know, I would never be defeated." I hissed. I flung myself at the King, slashing blindly with the sword. His body caught on fire, while he choked.
"To- to all my kingdom.. I hand over the em-empire to- to my wife and daugh-" But he had fallen, his body reduced to ashes, a blackened skeleton remaining.
"Who wouldn't have a burial now?" I retorted.
I threw and ender pearl, teleporting me to as far as I can. I had killed the King. And for now, I would be a wanted criminal.
Behind me, I heard baby cries and sobs. I looked behind me. In the distance, the Queen was weeping, the baby in her arms bawling like crazy. She was kneeling over her husband's remains. I felt a pang of guilt and regret for a moment, but ignored it.
It wasn't my fault. I was sitting peacefully, and the jerk came along with his guards or whatever, trying to kill me. I had the rights to do what I did... didn't I?
I was standing in a field, a few dozen yards away from the event. I was thought to be a monster. And now, I had confirmed it with my actions. I lay down in the grass looking up at the stars. Maybe I shouldn't go back. But I had to. I couldn't imagine living without Alex and Steve. Speaking of them.. Where are they?
I had only seven ender pearls left. I shall use them wisely. I opened my handbag and grabbed my invisibility potion. I drank it immediately.
I ran across the field, toward the palace, my feet crunching on the grass. I had to find them.
The flower field. Thats where Alex said she'll go. But surely she heard of what happened and stopped picking flowers. Right?
I ran to it, looking around. The flowers were all gone. I looked back at the King's remains. They were showered with flowers. Must be the flowers from the field. Around the King was an enormous crowd. Maybe Alex and Steve were in it. I elbowed my way through the crowd. At the lead, stood the Queen.
"Today!" She yelled."Is the day! Where our beliefs are confirmed! The Shudiens have been right all along. It has already been confirmed at the Great War that shapeshifters are heartless monsters! But the thought remained that not all of them may be. But now! I confirm shapeshifters ruthless killers! Shall you see one, slit her or his throat and you shall be rewarded with five million gold nuggets. If you do it to that one, the reward is tripled."
I swallowed. I was only defending myself.
"I promise you all! That this killer will be tortured for five years once captured, then executed after that!"
That was it. I wasn't going to listen to this. Little did they know that I was right here. I elbowed my way past the crowd, bumping into someone who couldn't see me several times.
I bumped into a man. He looked at me. "Invisible people can see other invisible people." He growled. That was the man who got the King to attack me.
He shouted at the top of his lungs: "Your Highness! She's here and invisible!"
The Queen's face darkened. "GET HER!!"
I potion was thrown at me, but not hard enough for the bottle to break and splatter the potion across me. Whatever it was. The man shoved the potion into my mouth.
I shapeshifted again by the force of the potion, rising upwards, me spreading my wings. Again, I was the enderdragon. And I was not invisible.
Below me, I spotted Alex in the crowd. She was on the ground, weeping. Steve was sitting next to her, comforting her. Then he looked up at me with a scowl.
"Go away, Cecilia. And don't come back."
