Chapter 6
Drew's POV
We have been here a month and so far we are on schedule. One minor hiccup to the plan though was me punching Connor in the face. He completely deserved it though.
It was obvious that I wasn't going to be the one that became part of the popular kids group, especially not with these types. I tend not to be the one that infiltrates the top group whenever we have cases like this. I usually am the one that gets close to a suspect that is an outsider, alternative, or basically anyone that isn't part of the 'it' group.
After this week our best chances are to have Victoria be the one that integrates their friend group. They would never have a junior in the group so Callan, Navy, and Killian were out. Sloane is too 'nerdy' for them.
Victoria is also the best at intel out of all of us. We all are given equal responsibilities and no one is given any favoritism, but each of us has a certain strength that we beat our siblings at. I was made leader of our team when I was 14. It was a group decision that only me and my siblings had a say in.
Along with being team leader I am the best at combat, especially hand to hand. Victoria is the best at intel. Sloane is the best at tech. Callan is the best at marksmanship. Navy is the best at climbing. Killian is the best at tracking.
No matter what our strengths are, we still train every skill. It is important to not just strengthen your best skill, but also to be strong in every other one. During missions we don't train as often as when we are off, but we still find some time. On the weekends we train for about 6 hours.
This weekend Kendall will be throwing a party at her house, which she invited us to, so there will be no training for us till Sunday. Parties are vital for our cases because they tend to lead to drunk teens revealing a lot of information. It also allows us to get closer to the suspects or their friends.
Per usual we are having our debrief of what we have learned each week.
"About 90% of the senior class will be at tomorrow's party. This is our opportunity to get Victoria close to the suspects. Considering Kendall has already approached us we will use her to gain confidence" I say.
"Kendall is cool, but I don't think she is looking for one of us to be her friend" Victoria laughs.
"Well since you are our best chance to get one of us to be a part of their group you are going to have to get her to be your best friend"
"Or sleep with her" Callan laughs.
"Don't think Vic is the one she wants" Killian says, looking at Navy.
"Doesn't matter which one of you she hooks up with as long as we stick to the plan" I say. "Now let's go through what we have learned"
"Well if Connor and Jake are representations of their families then I would count them out as suspects because both of them are idiots. But on the other hand I would not be surprised if their parents pay off their teachers so they don't fail" Sloane says.
"I agree with Sloane" Callan responds.
"Other than sports and harassing other students they don't do much. It's looking like Blair is going to be our main focus"
For the rest of our meeting we go over our plan for the party. The goal is to learn more about Blair, Connor, and Jake through their peers. No one usually knows more about them than those who watch their every move.
.............
An hour before the party we all get dressed. I wear a plain black t-shirt, black jeans, and gray vans. Because we are meant to be seen as a family that comes from money we were given four highly expensive cars. Two cars for me and my siblings and two for my parents. I pull up to Kendall's which already has about 20 cars parked outside. Callan pulls up next to me.
